How do I get eBay to start dispute after 4 days?

I have had no joy at all in finding out how to get eBay to start a dispute when item is unpaid- I know I can do it manually, but I would rather set and forget.

So far, I have had no unpaid item issues, but i want to be prepared.

Thanks in advance!

I understand the bank deposit problem, thanks crypsynight for pointing it out to me.

The thing is, nobody has paid me that way yet! Is it worth accepting it, at all?

I thought there might be a demand for a variety of payment options, but PP gets almost all the action, with a handful of local pickups.

Re: How do I get eBay to start dispute after 4 days?

I get a fairly even trickle of bank deposits coming through.

There are many buyers out there that feel insecure in having any form of online banking - which includes paypal. They like to be able to go into the bank and deposit it over the counter (maybe more so the elderly, but purely guessing).

But....even if you did stop allowing Bank Deposits, you still wouldn't be able to use the Unpaid Item Assistant as you still allow local pickup. To be able to use it, you need to only accept payment from electronic sources such as paypal and paymate.

OMG.

Guess I'll need to do it manually, if indeed it ever happens!

I accept Bank Dep and honestly have had maybe 5 people pay that way in 12 months.

JMO but you could remove the bank dep details, if a customer wants to pay that way they can always message you and ask. That way you can have all settings to auto and simply give the odd buyer your bank details on request.

How many NPBs are you expecting? Seems a bit radical just to have to avoid opening the odd dispute.

I expect none and get very few, like less than 1%.

I have had no NPBs so far, and the whole thing seems to be so fraught with complications that I am going to give up on the whole idea!

However, I am very grateful to all who responded: I now have more of an understanding of the issues involved, and thank you all for the time you nobly spent in lightening my darkness!:-x
