Large Letter mail can be no thicker than 2cm. I doubt you'd be able to find any way to fold jeans to get them to fit the large letter requirements.

Aus Post will either return it to you with an underpaid postage fine or they'll send it to the buyer who'll receive a card to say that extra postage is payable on collecting the parcel from their Post Office.

Do the jeans weigh less than 500g? Parcel postage will be $6.95. If you send it as a large letter it will very likely end up costing you more than the $3.95 difference in postage.

Yes it is your fault - certainly not fair the buyer may get penalised when you know you are sending it for the wrong price - so pay the correct postage
