How do I see who left me defects on DSR

Can someone explain step by step how I view who has left me 3 stars on my DSR?

and you click on the blue "expand" button;  it will give you item nos and transaction nos.

I just put the item number in search and it shows me what the item was and I can check the order details for the seller's name.

If it is too old for search, I can always find it in paypal.

If it's too old for a search, you can still find out the long way I mentioned above. This is for the OP too (and anyone else interested).

Go into the Seller Dashboard and on the left is a link "Detailed Seller Rating Report", click on that, then click on the blue button "Create Report". On the next screen, change the dropdown at the top to Item Numbers.

Now, open a new tab and go to your feedback. I will assume that your listings aren't private, so item numbers should show for all transactions in the feedback. Find 10 feedback where you KNOW you got 5 stars for each thing.

Copy each of those item numbers into the bottom box on the page where you're creating the report, separated by a comma. Give it a name (I just use a number so there's something in the box to identify it) and then click Run Report.

Keep refreshing the next page until the report highlights blue and says complete. It should only take a couple of minutes. If it says "no details", it means one of those item numbers, the buyer didn't leave a DSR, so find another 10 numbers (at this stage it doesn't say which one didn't leave the rating). Once the report is complete, open it and hopefully, they all should say 5.0. If they don't, select another 10 numbers. Keep the 5 star report and keep that screen open.

Next, select the item number that you suspect may have given a low rating. Go back to the report page and on the right of the report you just created, click the drop down and select "Run Similar". That will open all the item numbers you previously inserted. Remove the LAST one and insert the new suspect item number and then run a new report.

If the report comes back showing less than 5 stars, then you know it was that transaction that gave you the low rating, as you already know the other 9 gave you 5 stars. If you open the rating distribution link, it will show you where they trashed your stars and whether they gave you a 1, 2 or 3 rating.

Yes, this is the long way of doing it, but once you have that intial report with 10 x 5 star numbers, you can keep that one and just repeat the above by removing the last number and inserting a new one to check numbers. It's only creating the first good report that takes time due to having to find 10 feedback with 5 star ratings. As you can see the buyers name in your feedback, you will know exactly who left the bad rating.

So you got further than this screen?

seller dashboard

I wonder why my seller dashboard (below) reads differently from those of others? I've seen plenty of sellers mentioning their defect percentage but I could never figure out where they were getting it from, but now it's quite clear that it's right there in black and white, whereas on mine, it merely gives me the current number of defects. Does anybody know if it's user-selectable, or does it show percentage of defects on some and number of defects on others? I simply don't understand why there should be a difference. I'd love to know what my percentage is but I've no way of finding out. Or maybe it only applies to those rated TRS?

Sheep, with your method of finding out what DSR scores a buyer left, I should point out that quite often you won't get a result at all and this is because the buyer whose feedback you're checking didn't leave any DSRs (and plenty don't). My last 5 buyers didn't score any DSRs at all.

Does it show a percentage when you open the defect section, like in mine below?

When you click 'view trending data' it gives you the option to display the information in Count or Percentage format. I don't know if this has an effect on how the defect rate is displayed.

No sheepy, when I open my defect section it simply says 3 defects and gives absolutely no percentages whatsoever. All I can put it down to is the fact that I'm not a TRS, and neither will I ever be one because I refuse to offer "free postage" or a 30-day return period. I suppose it's easy enough to calculate as it's simply the number of defects expressed as a percentage of the total number of transactions. Be nice if I didn't need to use a bloody calculator to check it though.

That gives me individual percentages but not an overall percentage, and neither does it change the way my defects are listed. Never mind, as I said above, I can easily enough work it out with a calculator, but I sooner not need to. Seems to me that eBay can't get anything right these days, although that shouldn't really surprise me any more.

Re: How do I see who left me defects on DSR

Can a buyer ding your stars without actually leaving an yfeedback?

ie only leave star ratings?

I think they have to select one of POS, NEUT or NEG before the stars are even shown to them. Is that right?

Correct. They're not shown the star section until they've selected a level of feedback.

Re: How do I see who left me defects on DSR

I just checked my stars and noticed that my postage time star was missing an arm....along with the as described star. I went and ran a few DSR reports to see who left what and found the culprit. A buyer who left me great feedback, but gave me 4 stars for everything.

I was really miffed at the postage time one because I posted WITHIN AN HOUR of him paying. My handling time on that item was 4 days and I posted within an hour of payment and he still felt the need to mark me down.

He lives in some way out remote place in far north Qld, so sent him a message saying I had posted and that it could take 2-3 weeks to arrive due to his remote location and the time of year. He replied, thanking me saying it will get there when it gets there. He paid on the 8th Dec, I posted the 8th Dec and he received it on 12th Dec. FOUR DAYS. The eBay estimates earliest date was Dec 15, so he got it 3 days EARLIER than the earliest estimate.

As far as being as described, I thought I'd described it pretty well, even pointing out a few defects with the item.

The postage cost, I charge $8 for a small parcel. I don't feel that is too much of a mark up, but obviously he did.

I am really pished about this because I worked damn hard to keep my 5 stars. I had just got my as described star back to 5 after someone defected me with a 3 star.

I know I shouldn't be worried because I didn't get a defect, but buyers can still see my stars that are missing an arm and it reflects badly on me.

I now have a new addition to my special party list. I have also appropriately replied to the positive feedback he left in case anyone else who values their stars wants to add him to their party list too.
