Hi Dylan,
Thanks for consistently delivering exceptional service to your buyers. We're here to provide you a marketplace where you can sell with confidence. That's why we've taken the following steps during the past month to protect your account:
|
We've already updated your seller dashboard to reflect these changes, which are for transactions made during the past year. When we remove transaction defects, your transaction defect rate may not go down if you had transactions that received more than one defect. |
What a load of garbage.....No doubt the scammers that flood the australian site got the same thing enabling them to continue selling......It really does seem like ebay is protecting some now......I think I am going to be sick.....I want all my given ratings or nothing at all.

There is NO Communication strand in the new defect rating system. You cannot be rated on it any more.
This p. . .d me off and when I asked ebay about it they said that Communication was deemed to be too subjective a category.
What a load of rubbish !! If you are a good communicator and responsive to buyers or prospective buyers questions or requests, there's really no 'ifs' or 'buts' about it. You should receive the recognition for your responsiveness. We are always being encouraged to communicate with buyers so why has this category of rating, suddenly lost its currency ?
I always took great trouble over being communicative and many of those I did business with, expressed their appreciation for that. So it is highly valued by trading partners.. . .just no longer by ebay !!!

I wasn't one of the 'lucky' ones. 2 of my 3 defects were for buyers leaving 3 stars.....with glowing positive feedback. I'm still only at 0.85%, so not in any immediate danger. I'll be glad when all my stuff is gone, then I can walk away too.

The DSR for communication remains, it just can't result in a defect.
The buyer can rate you at 1 star for communication and it will affect your overall communication DSR, but it won't be a defect.
Same goes for postage costs.

It's not because you deserved the 3s Sheeps. Buyers leave fabulous feedback because that's what you deserve. Then they slink around and leave low ratings not because you did a bad job but just because they can.
It's very sad to leave selling on eBay but it's all too hard for me. And it seems to be getting harder with every one of eBay's latest whims to cope with. God knows what they'll dream up in the future. One thing for sure it won't be good for sellers

I think what peeved me the most was that she blantantly lied to me. She said the item had a big crack through it. I refunded, including return postage, she returned. I looked at it with the naked eye, couldn't see or feel any cracks. I looked at it with a magnifying glass, still couldn't see any cracks.
Last night it got the better of me, so I put it under my microscope at both 200x and 400x and no evidence of any cracks, chips or anything. I went one better and turned it up to 800x just to see what it looked like out of curiosity and I could see tiny flecks of what I think may have been polish. Unless she put it under a microscope at 800x, there is no way she would have seen those microscopic flecks of polishing compound.
I now believe it was a change of mind but she didn't want to say that, so went the INAD route instead (although I am grateful she didn't open a case against me, but I still copped a defect for my efforts).

Yeah I got the letter too! They said they adjusted mine but I can't see where. It is still the same as it was. So I just deleted it and went to bet on the Melbourne Cup instead! Which was worth my while as I was lucky enough to back the winner!!!
