I just opened a chat with an Ebay representative and asked them "what changes have recently been made that has seen my sales drop by 95-100% this month?" I received the following response
Jean Su. "We have done nothing to destroy any seller's account. It is up to the buyers to buy items and some items are seasonal. Also, there are many sellers nowadays that the competition is very stiff."
....I then mentioned that the drop in sales happened instantly which is neither seasonal nor due to competition being "very stiff" and the response I received was ...dead silence... It appears that rather than tell the truth o a lie Ebay will just go silent and wait for you to go away. So after years of advertising and telling us all to build our own Ebay business and encouraging us to rely on it for our living this is the response we get when they decide we are no longer of any use. I would have some more to say but i have already received 4 warnings from the Ebay moderation team today for speaking out of line. I guess they will shortly send me another dozen or so.....because i know I have been speaking my mind a lot lately. Shame on me.

I was just selling items on my normal eBay account with no store at 50c for auction format and I would add a BIN on to the listing for 10c... I WAS doing exceptionally well. Since the auction fee went up to $1.50 a listing ( bloody robbery) I decided to open up a store so I could afford to list my items. The last week or so there has been a decrease of 95% in sales... they are all BIN. I have tried price markdowns... Failed... I put as many key words in as I can when I list, and I was listing new items every few days... Failed... What I have discovered people like auctions... Not BIN, a when you have a listing on for 30 days, it probably won't come up in the search until the last few days when people look at items ending... So I am predicting a spike in sales for the week they are all ending, once a month and the rest of the time not to hold my breath in making any sales. Just when I thought I may have been on a good thing, Ebay tripled their prices, forced people off auction formats and into stores that are NOW not making 5c a day... Yep... I have gone days without a sale! Ebay's new fee system... BIG FAIL!

ITS REAL SIMPLE.. EBAY HAS MORE LISTINGS THAN THE JUNK SERVERS CAN HANDLE SO THEY HIDE YOUR LISTINGS MORE THAN THEY SHOW THEM.
THE CRAP THEY PULL IS LIKE YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER SELLING YOU ADS THAN NOT PRINTING THEM IN THE PAPER FOR PEOPLE TO SEE...
KINDA LIKE BAIT AND SWITCH !!! OR AS SOME PEOPLE CALL IT THEFT..THAT'S WHAT I HAVE HEARD.
NOW SIT BACK THERE WILL BE AN EBAY CHEERLEADER ALONG TO FLUFF EVERYONE UP !!!!

Have been reading all the comments over the last week or two (or more!) and have to agree, things have just come to a complete stop. Even taking into consideration the time of year, it is as though something has happened and cannot fathom out what. Over the last month or two, have also noticed that items which would normally generate a few bids were sticking at the asking price and it seemed to set a general pattern.
As for the increase in postal charges, I have come off better insofar as larger size trainers/shoes are now cheaper to post with the courier so I cannot blame the increase post cost putting customers off.
The mind boggles but one thing is sure, something is definitely not right and I wish we knew what it was!!

I've had 1 sale so far this month, and my p&p charges haven't even changed Selling on eBay has just become a futile exercise with little or no reward for all the hard work. Shame, as it used to be great!! Now it's a flee market flooded with Chinese goods from Chinese sellers - personally wouldn't touch any of them with a barge pole

hi, in two years this is the worst month ever, sales literally disappeared to one or two a week for last six weeks. I think I have been switched off tried relisting former best selling items but that hasnt worked. do ebay ever reply?

My sales are better than May 2012.
In a category full of dropshippers and OS sellers, all of whom list for cheaper than I do.
Luck, I suppose

I have tried repyling with the truth about this topic for 'discussion', being "I asked Ebay what new changes have damaged my sales...and they responded..." but I am being reported (at least 6 reports) by 'certain/same' members about my content not being on topic. I have been reported for responding to 'certain' posters about their rudeness and sarcasm. My replies have been removed. How democratic-not.
It seems that these discussion forums are for the moderator elite who can say what they like-mainly being rude to others and 'others' can come here at the risk of being chastised, bullied and reported if we speak our minds or the truth.
4 Corners last night reported that their are huge problems with Chinese cyber attacking leading website companies. I believe that this is one of the main reasons for the 'down' turns/times/sales on this site and many others in the last few weeks.
This is a discussion forum and I was expecting some discussion on my opinion especially since other ebay site users have been experiencing same technical issues as this ebay site.
I get suspicious about motives behind the people who are hell bent on shutting me and my recent opinions down on unfounded grounds.
