I think Registered Post should be mandatory

Im really sure that Ebay should have Registered post as a mandorty selection if your selling something.

Your almost sure to lose the item by not sending it Registered!

Seriously tho, can sellers just start offering it? would make things a lot easier and smoother!

This is not tweeter or facebook. Those # things serve no purpose here apart from making you look like a nong.

I know I am behind the times, story of my life, but I am not even sure how those # things are supposed to work.

some buyers specifically dont wont to have to sign, as they are not home and can't get to their local PO in opening hours.

I have offered sign for delivery as an option and virtually no one ever opts for it. Since the introduction of Ebay labelling system I have had negligible parcels go missing altogether. Hardly anyone takes up express either.

sign for and registered at the end of the day is for seller protection not the buyers, as INR is buyers insurance

Very true.  Even more frustrating, I am housebound and get around with a walking frame....and I NEVER get to the door in time to sign for something.  Sigh.  I can't drive at present either, so no collecting it from the post office.

In fact there's rarely any parking at the post office so when I used to drive to collect parcels I had to have them transferred to another PO (a sub agency - good parking and longer opening hours).  It took weeks sometimes for AP to move the parcel a mere 2km because of course it had to take the scenic route through Sunshine West (and we all know what that means).

I've made roughly 40 purchases this year so far from Oz sellers (most eBay but not all) with no signature required and NONE have gone missing.  One parcel from the UK has, but where...in the UK, in Oz or somewhere in between...who knows?

The day Oz sellers all use registered post/signed for etc is the day I never purchase from an Oz seller again.  Signature required is a huge inconvenience for me.  It's as simple as that.  Registered mail = NO SALE.

Sounds like you want ebay to make ALL your decisions for you, instead of using the brains you were given.  Do you ask ebay what time to get up in the morning and what time to eat and what time to brush your teeth?  Some of us prefer to make our own selling decisions because we have more experience in selling than ebay staff.

Perhaps ebay could make correct spelling mandatory.  Smiley Wink
