I know express post used to not cover by paypal seller protection but then I saw this.
http://auspost.com.au/personal/express-post-parcels.html
I always use the click and send for my listing suggested by
https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/security/sell-shippingrecommendations
so I'm protected
so anyone know where I can get a clarification whether express post can be cover by paypal protection?
Thank you everyone 🙂

PayPal have stated a postal receipt that at least shows the recipient's postcode is one of the documents they will accept as proof of postage, but last I checked it was in the 'general' information on-site and if you look through the user agreement and read the information provided there as well as at the links within the agreement itself, it states the documents must show the buyer's delivery address, and the statement that the just the receipt with a postcode is a relatively recent addition"
Digital ghost on the link you will find all amendments made to the au paypal user agreement from january 2007 to August 2012.
Being a fluid legal document any amendments must remain available to users
You will not find any amendments/changes to the proof of shipping... because none have been made.
The proof of post clause has always required at a minimum the date the item was posted and the butyers postcode.........
It has been like that since I started using paypal in 2002 using the US user agreement. In 2006 paypal australia was formed and a new user agreement.........

If the AP receipt for any of their products has the buyers postcode and the date the item was sent then it qualifies for the seller protection policy
AS a minimum for proof of shipment for the paypal seller protection policy you require an receipt with the date the item was sent and the buyers postcode.
This information can easily be verified by following the links with the relevant info copied and pasted below and taken directly from paypals user agreement and policies.
It is integral that as a seller you understand why an AP product may or may not qualify the sale for seller protection policy acceptance

ie 2c limitations on the seller protection policy> definition and interpretation of "proof of shipment" in Seller Protection Policy context. A link is supplied to paypals requirements with the minimum being buyer postcode and date of delivery to the carrier.

C. you do not provide Proof of Shipment or respond to our other requests for information in a timely manner
from definitions and interpretation
Proof of Shipment means the proof of shipment accepted by us as set out within the “Proof of Shipment” page on the Safety Advice section of our website;
https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/security/sell-shippingrecommendations
Buyers and sellers, at the very least, must provide documentation that includes the date the item was sent, plus one of:
1 An official acceptance by the shipper, such as a postmark or online status (status that shows the item was delivered is also acceptable)
2 The recipient's delivery address showing at least the state, city and postcode (or international equivalent)
3 A receipt from Australia Post showing at least the recipient's suburb, city or postcode (or international equivalent)
Other documents that will can help prove delivery to carrier.
A statutory declaration, australia post insurance forms like cp52, cn22 (green customs) forms can be tracked on the usps site

Who can make a statutory declaration?
Anyone may make a Commonwealth statutory declaration, provided they understand:
1 what a statutory declaration is
2 everything they state in the form must be true
3 the consequences of making a false declaration.
It is a good idea to check with the organisation requesting the statutory declaration whether they have any requirements or limitations.
An organisation cannot make a statutory declaration.
However, someone from within the organisation, who has the relevant knowledge, can make the statutory declaration.
For example, a company director can make a statutory declaration on behalf of their company.
Your obligations
It is important not to make a false statement in a statutory declaration. This is a serious issue. You may be charged with a criminal offence which carries the possibility of a fine or even jail.

Why not just get the extra cover on the Click and Send parcel?
You cannot buy increased cover on C&S. It is $50 without signature and $100 with.
Not true, you can get increased cover with C&S, however it is not available with ebay satchels. You need to process the item without the ebay satchel code.

Thanks for the info viewmont, I'm surprised by that if for no reason other than I had never seen the postcode showing the receipt as acceptable proof of shipping until several months ago, and when you go looking for what it acceptable proof of shipping on the site, the page stating that is very difficult to find (I can't get there via standard site searches or the user agreement). All of the ones I find by standard navigation say that the proof "must" show the recipient's delivery address. (https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/main.jsp;jsessionid=7nlzQ1sBF1rpPLb9X5nn3q02GFmJTTcZspBnM0hcYRK5yhDtJblt!-692288800?t=solutionTab&ft=homeTab&ps=&target=_parent&solutionId=1206880&locale=en_AU&_dyncharset=UTF-8&countrycode=AU&cmd=_help&serverInstance=9016
and
https://www.paypal-australia.com.au/business/business-resources/delivery-options )
In that case then, if PayPal have always deemed it as acceptable, then there have been a number of sellers that have attempted to use it as proof of shipping in the past but failed (anecdotally, based on threads that I have read here over the years, and I don't know what else those sellers did / didn't do throughout the dispute that may have contributed to the loss).

I never experience myself, but it's hard to believe postcode can be proof of shipping.

Or process the extra cover over the counter - no differently to what you would do Registered.
Extra Cover Forms have 3 options to select from - Express Platinum, Registered, Click and Send.

Hi everyone,
I sent an email to Australia Post a bit over a week ago and haven't received a response yet, I thought I should ask here as alot of you seem to have had experience with using click and send. I have not used click and send before and just wanted to check on a few things.
For the 500 gram satchel postage it is $6.20 for regular postage and Signature on Delivery is $1 extra. With the signature is that sent to my address after the person has confirmed ad signed for the parcel?
For the proof of postage that paypal requires, if i bring my satchel to an Australia Post, will I get a receipt with the destination location on it? Similar to what is received if registered post is selected?
Lastly if I post my satchel through an Australia post box ebay says that "Sellers must be able to provide proof of shipment that can be validated by Australia Post in order to be eligible for PayPal seller protection. Proof of shipment for the satchel dropped in Australia Post street posting boxes only applies where Australia Post can provide validation of delivery." What are the requirements to get this proof of shipment validated? Can this be done by bringing in the proof of shipment email that is sent out and showing it to the people at an Australia post outlet?
Cheers

Just to clear up the extra cover 'thing', I was referring to the ebay satchels.
If you take your click & send satchel to the PO it will be scanned into the system and will show up on the AP tracking in the majority of cases, you also get a receipt. If you post straight into the box they will not be scanned until further into the system and if it goes missing and does not get tracked to the delivery address you have no proof that it was posted, just that you paid for the postage through the click & send site.
