I have been away for the past few Christmas’s so I did not have my store open, this year I was home so left the store open, now I am wondering if it is actually worth it to have a store open at this time of the year, I have had at least 8 letters go missing, I open up my emails and it is another enquiry as to “”where is my item”” all posted between the 22 Dec to the 1st of January, all letters or large letters so no way to track.
Is this a usual occurrence ???? or am I just having a run of bad luck ???

I left my store open one year and had the same problems not to mention people buying two days before christmas and then expecting their item in time. It wasn't worth the stress for me so I close down a week before christmas and usually open again after new year now.

I stayed open over Christmas / new year and had a reasonable number of sales. I havnt recieved any "where is my item" enquiries yet. I did make several purchases over this period and they are all a bit slow in arriving, and I,m starting to wonder when I will see them. If your buyers are not experienced ebayers, they are probably not used to the mail being a bit slow at this time of year.
Is it possible that AP are delibrately holding mail up to "encourage" us to pay the extra 50 cents for their priority mail stickers ?

I left my store open, had great sales and didnt have any issues whatsoever.

I also had higher sales this Christmas so should expect the odd one to go missing.

Just replying to you Clarry as you are the last poster.
I had a letter arrive yesterday 12.1.16 from the Far South Coast (NSW). Postmarked 3.1.16. Nothing to do with eBay, but just proving that Aust Post REALLY ARE slowing down mail deliveries. Would normally (pre their new service) have taken 3-4 days, not 9.
So what hope does anyone have when eBay puts up its ridiculous 'estimated delivery dates'.
