Negative feedback 4 days after paying.

I recently sold an item on the 15th.  Buyer paid on the 16th.  Raised a paypal dispute on the 19th and left me negaive feedback on the 20th.  I contacted buyer on the 19th and sent item on the 20th.  I also refunded their money out of good will, yet they still left negative feedback.  Even though sale stated that item would arrive 5-9 days after payment is received, so the 21st-25th.  I think I have been more than generous.  End of the day they are going to get the item for free within the alloted time and I am left out of pocket with negative feedback.  Can I ask Ebay to remove feedback?

Not sure if they will because your handling time is 3 days and you posted on day 4. I would still try though because there is no mention of postage being delayed and it was left within that ridiculous estimate that the buyers take as gospel. RING eBay or get them to call you back. Ask to speak to a supervisor. If you get no luck the first call, try again.

 

Does this buyer have a habit of leaving negs within 3 days of purchase? Check their feedback left for others.

Thanks for advise.  I have looked back over their feedback left for others.  Roughly 5 of avery 100 are left negaitve.  He calls people pieces of **bleep** and threatens to send Bikers around to sort them out.  This guy is a complete tool.

I would definitely be ringing eBay then. Point out that the buyer has a history of leaving negative feedback for non genuine reasons and you feel you are another one of his victims. Tell them to read the negatives he has left for others.

 

Would love to know who this jerk is, but unfortunately, you can't name and shame on the forums ๐Ÿ˜ž

 

See if you can leave another follow up reply to the feedback. If you can, write something like <user ID> has a histroy of leaving bad feedback. By leaving their ID in the feedback, others can see who they are. It's worth doing for any bad feedback you get. Then others can see at a glance who it is and take the appropriate action.

I am not sure how the buyer managed to open a dispute for not received - the system is supposed to block not received paypal cases being opened until the estimated delivery time shown on eBay has expired.

 

By chosing to go the road of goodwill when the buyer had none has worked against you - if you had not refunded the money and won the dispute for not received by providing a tracking number you could have had any subsequent negative feedback removed.

I would definitely follow through with ebay trying to get it removed -  Estimated within 5-9 business days so it is unfair that they can open a dispute within 3 days.

 

Also, I would not have refunded.   Now they have the item, your money, and have given you a neg as well.   Very unfair.

I looked at your negative feedback, it appears you have a precedent in being slow when it comes to shipping items. I wonder if this is why the recent buyer decided to advantage? 

 

Personally once I have been paid I inform the buyer when the item will be shipped. I found communication or the lack of, whereby complacent, is the cause for most issues.

I admit I have had a few in the past. I work away and cant always post in time. I generally let people know. This guy emailed me the day after paying and asked when is it being posted. I checked my messages the next day and replied. He had already spat the dummy because I had taken 12 hours to reply to his message. I am going to chalk this one up to experience. I have just left my weekly feedback for about 200 items so I should start getting some positive ones to push that down the list. I will remove my free postage option and put in maximum handling time. This will off course mean Ebay will bombard me with emails on how to improve my seller rating, but so be it.

Yes I do accept you do once in a while get a nutjob that requires plenty of attention. Since you work away perhaps you might want to mention that in your listings too.
