I sent an item in 3 kilo satchel & it was returned to my local post office about 8 days later..
The post office left me a collection card with request for $13.40 return postage charge !!!
The tracking showed the parcel was delivered but there was a problem with either
wrong address (no it was correct address) or the buyer not home & failed to collect at post office...
So where do we stand as sellers? we either retrieve the item & pay the return post fee or refund the seller and leave the parcel
with Aust. Post?
either way we loose...

But via one of our other modes of delivery sources..
Australia post insures up to $5000. You must have signature on delivery. For a small satchel or small box, postage for a $5000 item would be $134.65. $122 of that being for the insurance.

tippy re the fine print they insure at different rates on different package sizes etc. It Not a one figure across their whole range of items some are at 5000 some at 1000 and others at 500.
Also a heads up for Business sellers ebay have change their return/refund policy to kick in very shortly. Suggest people get up to speed on it.

And why would one send through aus post a 5000 dollar item with their insure costs. To gave ya an example star track insures at about $55 for 5000 and then 17.50 for the package. so about half the cost of auspost.

StarTrack is owned by Australia Post.

knows that AND highlights how rough of a deal small business get from aus post... Unless you sent tons of packages you can not tap into star track we are lucky we can tap into them. But most small business can not tap into them. BUT on the flip side of this I notice sendle is going to offer better rates on ebay and shopifty soon to smaller sellers and they also are going to be cheaper also on insure that auspost

And you will get service commensurate with the prices.
Hopefully your buyers will be understanding about you cost-cutting instead of providing a good experience.

Be careful what you wish for, Sendle is renowned for using Fastway couriers whenever it can, and Fastway (who are now known as Aramex) have about the worst reputation for troublesome deliveries of any courier company......
Edit. G'day Dave............snap............

You took the words out of my mouth
Sendle will use the cheapest delivery service they can, and this will more often than not mean Fastway. Fastway are cheap for a reason - they are ......... useless.
Any self respecting business will not go near them and this is the reason we will not sign up to use Sendle. We value our client too much to have them be on the receiving end of the **bleep** service from Fastway.

What is wrong with Fastway?
