This issue really is NOT the price rise by AP, it is our inability to compete (in our own country Australia), against the very cheap postage which overseas sellers can send things to Australia.
For example from my own inventory. Parcel less than 500g to anywhere in Australia cheapest current price $6.95 with my own packaging etc. + Item cost $12.00
Same item sent from China or hong kong $12.60 FREE POST. How on earth do we compete with that. So I take it their cost of postage is around the 60c mark.
The International Postal agreement is agreed to by politicians. I suggest that we all get onto our local Federal members to start with if we want something to change.
And of course do sign the petition, the more noise, the more likely there is to be change.
One of the big effects of all this for AP is that there will be less and less parcels posted in comparison to incoming from overseas. So AP will eventually raise the prices for us Aussies again to try to cover the cost of transporting the incoming parcels all over this great country of ours. Hypothetically, there will be no small online sellers on ebay in Australia in years to come. IMHO

i spoke with them today re lost parcel and was told they had a lost parcel rate of 4% and she thought that was quite good i said so you ship 2000000 items a day and you lose 80000 of them ? she said oh it dosent sound good when you say it like that so not only are they crushing small biz with crazy prices they are costing us with replacements or refunds . also the sizing is so restrictive most other countrys have a 25mm letter thickness no not here 20mm is $2. 21mm will cost you $7.40 now and international manufacturers design their product with postage in mind small things could make good profit if you could ship it at $2 but at $7.40 its a joke now take that $5.40 differance x it by 800000 small biz sending just 1 parcel = $4320000 mill now lets all send 100 parcels =half a billion dollars that small biz have to buy more stock pay tax on etc etc which in turn creates more jobs with ports freight co packaging stamps etc etc its a total win win to make some changes to au post and thats 100 parcels a year per small biz i know thousands would send many thousand one small change could potentially inject multi billions into our economy what are your thoughts

please stop dragging up 3 year old posts.
just read them if you must and let them go.
Aust post have increased the prices several times in the last 3 years, and they won't be stopping now.

Wish AP would bring the under 250gm parcel rate. With only 500gms or 3kgs it makes posting quite expensive for light weight items. But then again why would AP care what their customers want!

Wow, I was selling so many items per week on eBay back in 2013 that I could have given up my day job. Lucky I didn't.
And a parcel price increase wasn't so scary. When the next one occurs, it could be the death of my poster business.

How do you access the petition to sign it as I can't locate it?
Of course you can't access the petition.....apart from the fact that this thread is 3 YEARS old, it is against ebay posting policy to allow petitions on the site....even if it is not against ebay.
