Paypal to bank acount technical glitch on 15/04/12

I have been waiting for payment of funds to my bank account transferred on 15th April. It is still not showing. I phoned Paypal on Friday and they said ti would appear on Saturday for sure. It is now Sunday and still no funds.

I rang Paypal and have been informed that there is a delay in posting the funds for transfers mae on 15th April and that their technical team is currently investigating the problem. They could not say that once the funds are 'found' how long it would be before the funds get to the bank! I queried whether it would be another 5 'working days' but they could not answer.

The respondent to my questions said that all ebay members had been notified but I said I definitely had not and that on Friday I had phoned and had not been told at that time. I was then told that they had informed customers that  'scheduled maintenance' on the Paypal 'blog' was their way of communicating with their customers - I did not even know there was a Paypal blog.......anyone else had that problem?? I rang ebay as I am concerned with the fact that feedback may be affected being as I usually do not post out until I receive funds into my bank - if we contact ebay they will take this into account on feedback but what about the star system and delays?

Disappointed in the lack of communications......

Initiated PayPal transfer to cover my ebay fees on 15th April.

Still a no show. Called ebay so that they are at least aware.

I wonder how many gazillions are in limbo.

I think there are two separate issues here.

One is the paypal site maintenance outage on Friday 20th April. This was (reasonably) well publicised (I got two emails about it) and just meant that we couldn't access paypal for a few hours.

The no-show of Australian bank transfers from 15th and 16th April seems to be a completely different issue/bug and I have found no announcements regarding this (there is a paypal blog but this is on paypal US and says nothing about this matter).

I am sure you will get your money eventually, but feel very sorry for those who might be having cashflow problems because they are still waiting for their money from paypal.

I don't understand why OP doesn't post until funds clear into their bank account.

Once the money's in Paypal, it's yours. THAT is the time to post, imo.

I would be at least knocking down your postage time star if you did it to me.

the conflict that I would experience with marking down postage stars is that it clearly states that item is usually posted within 5 days . . . . obviously to allow for funds transfer from PP to Bank.  If you buy with full knowledge that the seller posts up to 5 days after buying it would be hard to complain through DSRs

Maybe that's why posting is by Express Post . . . . to make up for lost time!

If the idea of waiting for funds to hit your bank is to shield them from a PayPal refund then it wouldn't work anyway.  PayPal would fund any refunds from future deposits into your PayPal account.  Using 500g and 3kg Express Post does not offer PayPal seller protection even though it is trackable online.  I think I would post within one day of funds clearing to PayPal.  You charge for a faster delivery posting option, but faster service is negated by waiting up to 5 days to post.

If I bought and paid by PayPal on a Monday evening, then you might not post until the following Monday.  If we are not both within the 1-day express zones it may take two or three days for the satchel to get to me.  Buy on a Monday . . . . get it two Wednesdays later . . . . . would seem slow even though it was 'express' and within your stated posting time.

Is the money still showing in your Paypal account? - if not then the hold up may be with your bank.

No, its definintely a paypal issue, it has affected lots of people. I have my withdrawals from later in the week, but not last Sundays yet.

Everybody that rings paypal gets a different story ranging from "no, there is no problem at our end" to "hopefully you'll have the money by monday" to "we dont know how long it will take till you see your money" 😐

I agree with dave, there is no reason to wait for a a payment to get to a sellers bank account before posting.

I am another waiting for funds due to this issue on 15th April.

I have called 3 times..three different answers:

1. It's probably the banks fault. Otherwise we'll look into the matter after 7 days.

2. It's a Paypal issue- you will have your funds in 24-48 hours.

3. (Supervisor)  It's a Paypal issue - don't know how long this could take. Worst case scenario - up to 14 days. Our technicians are working on the matter.

I asked would they notify me of any update... no just call back in a couple of days.  This is simply unacceptable.

This matter has been handled by Paypal very unprofessionally.
