Poor sales March 2018

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody else had experienced a huge drop off in sales over March? I've been really consistent with my sales over the last few years but around a month ago I had a half a day with no sales (which was very unusual) and since then it's just competely dropped off for no apparent reason. I'm around 30% down from what I normally do which is a bit alarming. I mean of course I expect fluctuatuions from time to time but it's never been as sustained as this. It doesn't matter how much new stuff I list or if I have special offers etc... It just won't improve. 

Anyone else experiencing the same issues with eBay?

Yes, I also noticed a downturn of around 30-35% for March.

Fortunately I sell on another platform, which actually was my best month there, so I guess it all evened out in the end.

I guess there is no understanding it, but I know that my overseas sales picked up towards the end of the month as I think it had been tax time in the USA, so people started buying again once they had recieved their tax refunds.

Yeah we're down around the 30% mark as well. It's never ever been this bad. I keep waiting for an improvement but nothing happens. I'm going to go elsewhere too. Have no choice really.

Should rename this thread DROP OFF IN SEPT ... Hows everyone going! Bit quiet up my neck of the woods ...What about others?

I have never seen it so quiet as it has been this month (and last month). Normally on a Monday I have several parcels to take to the PO - yesterday - nothing.  Normally by now I should have sold around 20 items over two IDs. To date this month I have sold 13. So I am down more than 30%.

SAME here!! Was going OK but last 10 days the wheels fallen off or somefink'....Even doing my Instagram postings with a link to my store, isnt doing anything. Tried to put a sale on .... but I cant seem to do that anymore. It kept saying I had no items listed in my sale... What the?? Going to try again tonight Gotta do something to keep this ship afloat... Casting off now me heartys!

My sales tanked on August the 8th and havnt recovered. I have had numerous conversations with CS reps. Early on they advised that major changes where made to ebays search algorythms in early August which has resulted in technical ptoblems with some random sellers visibility dropping substantially. They also advised that the tech department had been working for weeks to resolve the issue and expected it to take another month or two to resolve. My accounts where supposedly reffered onto the tech team to try to resolve the problems and I was given 3 months exemption from paying ebay store fees.

Now when I phone I get the " nothing to see here " response, no problems at all. AND supposedly no record of the previous calls where problems with my accounts where noted. My suspician is there where errors built into code that was introduced in August which cant be easily fixed.

I am currently watching my selling id,s going down the gurgler and nothing I can do about it. Sales down around 60% on trend at the moment and falling.

Pity really as I still have a shipping container full of stock I would have liked to move, before I voluntarily left ebay behind. I must say though, my stress levels have dropped without having to worry about ebay 24/7.

I was a full time ebay seller a few years ago but started developing another business to replace ebay as I felt the platform was too risky to build a permenant long term internet sales business on. This was at the time when ebay decided to introduce commissions on postage costs. The other business is just reaching maturity now and is providing me with a full income.

My son is also currently unemployed so have spent the past few months starting another new small business for him. If we can get it together it will kick off in around ten days time. ( October long weekend )  I am crossing my fingers and hoping this one flies as we have spent quite a bit of money and time on it. Who knows............. if it goes OK he might even offer me a Job.....

My sales through eBay dramatically died off just before Xmas 2015 - that's 3 years ago.  Everything was going amazing, my self-made products were returning more income than my regular job!  Then quickly it just fell and has never recovered.  Have had a few blips here and there but then it goes pretty quiet again for long periods.
