I love the way people complain about dodgy sellers but when ebay do something that might actually bring a few people into line everyone complains about that too.

There's also the fact that eBay has a history of deliberately undermining sellers for their own financial gain.

Sellers who fall below standard can only do so by canceling orders for being out of stock, or for having 'case closed without seller resolution' defects (the late shipment rate does not affect a seller's standing).

How many sellers, knowing what it does, atually choose 'out of stock' when they cancel a transaction - my guess is very few.

This leaves cases closed without seller resolution as the primary contender to push a seller 'below standard' - most sellers are allowed 2 of these in an assessment period before hitting 'below standard'.

That means if a seller tries to fight a bogus SNAD claim or two, they risk their eBay fees going up for the privilege.

Protecting buyers, my foot (that is directed squarely at eBay).

Re: Rising fees

It is not about the fees, eBay wants you gone and will do anything they can to get rid of you if you are not in China peddling garbage off a warehouse floor, if you are stupid enough to keep selling outside of China they will increase the fees to point where they take 100% of what you make, you will pay for postage and the item will need to arive to the buyer before you even send it with FREE postage. they will then charge you for the privlage on top.

ebay has been systematically pushing out sellers outside of China all over the world for many years.

they started with the one sided feedback years ago and just kept going, eBay are only as good as what they can get away with and we are the ones who let them get away with going this far.

try to complain to the bottom of the food chain staff the have in the philipines and see how you go. they could not care less and dont even know how they got to work or why they are there no matter who you talk to.

if all this is not bad enough, just do a goodle search for ebay sales throteling. it is a criminal act and they do it every single day.

they want to protect their buyers and train them to be as cheap as you can possibly imagine and to expect the world for nothing and then all they have to do is complain and they can have the item for free with free postage.
