Some of us are constanty reporting these scam listings which is why they are being removed regularly. If someone purchases these 'too good to be true' items then Ebay lets you know the listing has been removed you just start a dispute (you may need to insist as the items in this catagory have no protections) to get your money back. It is easy but takes a little time. You don't need the Paypal emails, just find the transation directly in your Paypal account.
It is annoying that Eaby don't keep on top of these listings but that is just how it goes.
Unfortunately, the people who fall for these scams don't usually read these forums until it is too late.

They have been on going for months and combined they have "sold" well over $50,000 worth of items.
Unfortunately Trust & Safety aren't as active as they used to be and some of these can take weeks to be
removed.
171610298226 has the negatives hitting hard now,(they where first reported in early December).
321603982273 this one was slightly different and was reported in early November.
171625356180 reported last month but items weren't removed.
281556389293 reported last month but items weren't removed.
Each of the ones above have been reported numerous times now.
151553305076 reported earlier this week but items are still up.
261730949972 reported earlier this week but items are still up.
So it's seems to be losing battle and eBay have assisted them by implementing hidden bidders so that the
buyers can't be warned or informed on how to get their money back from Paypal.
As it stands when a buyer tries to open a claim via PP they are told their is no PP protection in go-carts or
pocket bikes so they can't make a claim.
Only some buyer know that they can get their money back by ringing PP and speaking to a supervisor,(the
majority will just believe they have been ripped off).
There hasn't been anyone that has come to the boards to say that they received their money back after being
scammed so no one knows whether they get refunded after the scammer has been NARU'd.

go-tazz, as mentioned T & S seem to be so slow at removing these Rorts. It's now basically up to other users to report this. We are not ebay police. Why should we be doing their job, when they sit on their grubby hands & do zilch about it. ebay is RIFE with scams. Surely ebay can implement some sort of screening process when the listing is 1st uploaded. IMO This WILL bring ebay crashing down in the not to distant future and they have only themseles to blame.

Hi Taz, I purchased one of them so that I could put in a formal report through the completed listing, eBay did then NARU the seller.
As you said before, as it was listed in the incorrect category no dispute could be opened by the normal process, so it took a phonecall to Paypal to get the case opened and after 10 days I got my money back.
But you are very likely to be correct in that new/inexperienced buyers wouldn't know to do that and would put it down to being ripped off - then probably tell all their mates how bad eBay is, and turn them off using the platform as well.
eBay is obviously aware of these seller's practices in listing in the incorrect categories, but refuses to police those categories or take notice of members reports and stop the scammers before they rip people off.
FOR SHAME EBAY.....................

When I've looked at these listings to report them, I'd take a guess and say that 80% of the buyers are low feedback buyers, so wouldn't know that they need to ring PayPal to get a refund. They write it off to bad luck and the scammer gets to keep the money. I believe that there should be an automatic refund to buyers who are caught by these scammers. It might slow them up a bit.
I've also noticed with these scammers that they recruit some of their friends to 'buy' cheap items to get their feedback high enough whereby they don't have the PayPal funds hold thing to worry about. I've noticed that the most common 'cheap' item their mates buy are 'minions' (I have no idea what a minion is, but most of them have them in their feedback).

I forgot to mention that they are now branching out with their categories. Now you see them pop up in trailers and truck, commercial vehicles. Both also have no buyer protection.
There was another seller last week that ended up with 41 listings. I never got around to reporting those, but they are now NARU.
Here's one from the trucks category, 121542848917....and another 361183091547

One seller NARU, 5 more to go. They're taking their sweet time to remove them this time. 3 fake Makitas are selling like hotcakes.
