Should we Show buyers for sellers protection

Can we show a buyer who asked for full refund because item was not delivered by regular postage?

I had lots of refund like that, so I just do the refund, but I never got a feedback from them, so I asumed that they are getting items for free and we can do nothing about it. We are loosing not item only, also time and expenses.

!!!!! and the buyer who is laiyng that the item was not delivered!!!!! get's it all for free !!!!!

                                                 NOT FAIR

I just read on the eBay blog, even with a tracking number if package is left front at the door, buyer can ask for refund because there is not proof that they got the item.

So eBay always give the favor to the buyer as we are only workers for eBay. Wanna sell? Pay for it!

I can also say that I realy have GREAT CUSTOMERS who realy care by giving feedback talking to me, which I very appreciate, but we need to do something about the one wrondoing, because the good once paying more for hese bad once as we need to increase prices and postage also.

Privacy laws mean it'll never be allowed. Unfortunately we all pay more because of the thieves, whether it's online or in bricks & mortar shops.

Not unless Australia Post comes up with a cheaper tracked option for letters.

Registered post with signature costs an extra $4 on top of the cost of regular postage ($1-$5).

If only we had the alternative of tracking without signature on delivery (as we do with parcels) at $2, we'd use it much more often.

Having said that, we actually don't actually have many buyers claiming not received, & some of them have contacted us weeks later to say their items finally arrived & how can they pay.

Possibly certain categories attract more scammers & thieves than others.

I can really see where you are coming from but alas am unable to offer any solution.  It surely is a problem for many sellers and it is not fair.  Unfortunately you are never going to eliminate those who want to rort the system.  Ebay do not seem to care to any great extent so it leaves sellers in a hopeless position.  Maybe someone can come up with a foolproof idea.  Doubtful but maybe.

Your listings show 'standard postage'  What postage are you using that buyers are not expecting?

Good point.

I know if I spent up to $199, I would expect it to be registered post, not standard $1.50

And probably free post for that price.

I think the OP's initial statement was a bit confusing.  "Can we show a buyer who asked for full refund because item was not delivered by regular postage?" is probably meant to say that buyers are claiming the items didn't arrive and the seller has to refund because they send everything by regular postage and haven't covered themselves against claims by using tracking/signature on more expensive items.

aquajulis, If the dearer items were sent as registered letters you would have tracking, insurance up to $100, and a signature, all for less than the cost of a parcel which only has tracking.  I wouldn't send anything over $50 without registering it and I'd be adding that cost to the postage.  For anything worth over $100 it costs another $1.50 per $100 to insure.  On the items you don't put reg'd post on, self-insure by adding an extra 50c to the postage and put it aside as a fund to use when you have to refund anyone.

It costs an extra $4 for a registered post sticker if you buy them singly but you can also buy prepaid registered envelopes.  The standard DL size (130x240 mm) cost $5 each or $4.75 each if you buy a pack of 10.  They need to be able to fit through the 5mm slot and weigh less than 250g.

Be aware that Extra Cover (insurance) does not apply to bank notes, and it's prohibited to send currency (bank notes or coins) with a face value over $200.  This is printed on the bank of the lodgement receipt that's attached to one of my prepaid reg'd post envelopes.
