Stupid Buyer!!..Please Help

hi there guys can you please give me advice...i sold an item but had to refund the money due to supplier issue, the buyer paid direct to my bank account and i told him friday, the last 3 days he has put up on my facebook and various sites that i ripped him off etc...i have sent ebay a message about what the buyer did and what he posted, are they allowed to do this?...is ebay at fault for giving him my details and phone number???..need advice please!!!

I don't know that the word stupid is the right one for this buyer either.

Obsessed, malicious, vindictive maybe.

The sale would have been annoying. To bid for an item and then have a seller tell you it is not in stock is not going to put anyone in a good frame of mind.

But the bottom line is they got their money back. They would have been entirely within their rights to then give a neg though, for incompetence on the part of the seller.

Stalking & tracking someone on another forum though is a no-no in my opinion. I've seen this happen a few times on other forums, not sales forums. Believe me, it can become obsessive and scary.

As for calling a buyer stupid. Some almost certainly are. Very. Total nut cases at times.

If you want to make friends and influence people though it isn't the best policy to actually say it except between friends.

I typed 'numpty' into the search bar for these boards.

Only one came up where a poster called themselves a numpty.

How far into the past are we going to find this disparaging word?

The poster(s) that has used this term numerous times does not start topics so you won't find it automatically via the search function.

The search function does not systematically reveal all uses of a particular word or phrase in order of the most recent threads.

The poor search function also causes other numerous issues particularly when newbies post to threads coming up in search on a topic they are interested in that it is not the most recent on the topic. 

Search "Australia Post" ~ you will see for yourself - the first topics coming up for me when I search are 2014 with only 600 results in total.   Lol theres often 20+ references to Australia Post in one thread alone.

Most of us know who you are referring to when you mention the word numpty....and most of us know that the poster uses it in an appropriate way.   The original user of the word can hardly be blamed when others use the word in an inappropriate way.

As far as I am concerned it is a much "nicer" way of saying someone is silly/stupid/an idiot than using those words.  IMHO.
