The NEW ebay health check.

So I just received the email for this month's health check and it says in there, in regards to GTC listings and renewal fees:

"If you are a non-business registered seller, don’t use the Seller Hub, and most of your listings are single-quantity, we’d recommend you use our our ’Quick listing tool’ to avoid renewal fees. To do so, select “Switch to the quick listing tool” in the Advanced listing tool."

So question, how do I change to the Quick Listing Tool because I can't see it anywhere, and how will it save me on renewal fees?

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

I must have got a completely different 'Health Check' emails.

The 3 'Health Check' emails I received for 1 business non-store (& no listings either) & 2 non-store) only mentioned...

• New Requirement: Add Item Specifics to Sell More

• Report a Buyer: Giving You More Control

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

That's what my email stated.. the same as yours.
Item specifics and reporting a buyer.. no mention of anything else.
No wonder we sellers get confused at times!!

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

Here's the full text from the email:

All fixed-price listings are ‘Good ‘Til Cancelled’
Since February, all sellers can only create new fixed-price listings as ‘Good ‘Til Cancelled’. This is to create a better shopping experience, retain sales history, and secure more of what buyers love on-site. We’ve removed all short-duration options from the ‘Advanced Listing Flow’. ‘Good ‘Til Cancelled’ listings renew every 30 days, and will be charged an insertion fee each time it relists, or count towards your monthly listing allowance.

We’ve automatically converted any short-duration, fixed-price listings to ‘Good ‘Til Cancelled’, when they were scheduled to relist. You weren’t charged insertion fees for this.

You have several options to manage your new ‘Good ‘Til Cancelled’ listings:

• If you use the Seller Hub, we’d recommend you consider upgrading to a Basic Store, to avoid any renewal fees (up to 600 new or renewed listings a month).

• If you are a non-business registered seller, don’t use the Seller Hub, and most of your listings are single-quantity, we’d recommend you use our our ’Quick listing tool’ to avoid renewal fees. To do so, select “Switch to the quick listing tool” in the Advanced listing tool.

• Remember, you can choose to end your ‘Good ‘Til Cancelled’ listings any time.

From what I can tell in my research though, using Seller Hub is mandatory?? There is no way to switch to the quick listing tool as far as I can see.

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

Now I'm more confused than ever.

That wasn't the email I received (3 times) although it should have been.

I don't have a store on any of my ID's.

Although 1 is a business ID - it hasn't been used for over 12 months.

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

We got the good til cancelled email on our 2 non-store id's and the other one on our store id. None of them are business id's.

Just a thought - we got the message in February telling us about the GTC change only on our store id, which is the one on which we didn't get the GTC message this time.

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

Not the email I received.

I have a basic store and a business ID.

I caved in sometime ago and have been using the Seller Hub .

Nothing about the Good 'Til Cancelled listings (which are doing my head in in a major way!!)

Stores can't opt out of seller hub but non-store sellers can.

I think there might be more to the bit about using the quick listing tool than meets the eye.

Re: The NEW ebay health check.

So I eventually found the quick listing tool using a secondary account that I could removce Seller Hub from. When listing with the quick listing tool and selecting fixed price listing instead of auction it now has this note at the bottom:

"'Buy It Now' listings will renew automatically every 30 days for free (based on the listing terms at that time) until it sells, unless you end the listing."

So what on earth does that mean?? It's a one time fee for GTC until it sells or you end it? But then what is "the listing terms at the time"? I wish ebay were clearer with this stuff!!

What is even the point of having a store if non store accounts are going to get endless listings for a one time fee while we have to pay every month.

That's only until you have 40 listings running (or whatever number is allowed at the time).

As per usual, eBay are being quite opaque with their information.

I suppose, with wording like that, a few bunnies will over list beyond the 40 then wonder why they are being charged insertions.

CS will then, of course, point out the 40 item limit on freebies ... so sorry, them's the rules, thanks for using eBay.

PS I never got any health check emails.
