Hello, pay it, and forget the hassle.

Honestly Australia post are basically getting worse and worse at this.
I send tablet cases etc that are below the dimension required and in three days I got underpaid invoice for 6 out of about 15 items sent, the ones that did not get underpaid were phone cases and other items that were smaller or in simple envelopes.
Australia post have destroyed 3 of my items in the last two weeks costing me about $90 in sales and then I still had to replace the item for the customer because they either refuse to go to Australia post to claim back the money or don't have time to. Not to mention that you have to fill out a form that is really complicated, provide all sorts of identification, proof of the purchase, and then the process takes up to 2 weeks to get a reply, so if I did not send the customer another item, they are probably going to leave me negative feedback or never shop with me or recomend my store to anyone ever again. That all has to be done by receiver not the seller also so if they did get the money back and you have sent another item they may not even give it to you, they get 2 of your items and get the cash back while the seller basically gets screwed.
On top of this Australia post have stated that if you send an item in a letter and it is not paper it is a parcel, so basically everything you send now has a chance of being underpaid if it is not simply paper. This equates to every item needs to be sent as a parcel $7.40 and people are selling tablet cases for $7.95-$12.00
If the case costs you about $2.50 AUD from China + post about $0.75 AUD per item + import $0.50 + envelope 0.14 + post $7.40 that equates to $11.29 + ebay fee + paypal fee about 12% so between $1.00-$2.00 = 12.30-13.30...in other words I sell a case and loose $1.30-$4.35...add the $1.50 AP admin fee if you do get underpaid and your loosing $2.80-$5.85, so for my 6 underpaid invoices at the worst I lost $35.10, basically as new seller my sales for 2 days had to cover AP $41.30 invoice that I got.
How are we supposed to function as sellers on eBay at such losses, you companies should be ashamed of your greed, and eBay sellers need to stop undercutting prices of items that sell in stores for $30-40 for as little as $8, at least think of the postage and charge reasonable amounts. I honestly am not sure what to do because it is impossible to run a small business in this way, I am not sure how other sellers are doing it and not loosing masses of money, it feels a little like roulette, you post and hope AP don't flag your item.
AP needs a small parcel $2.50 option for items that weigh only 100-250g!!!

Apart from the fact that this thread is 18 months old, maybe stop underpaying postage. Plus pack your items better if they are being broken in the mail. And price them at a profit instead of racing to the bottom.

I had similar problems so used tape on the stamps. Then Mr Nasty at the PO quite rudely told me off for using tape! He no longer gets any commission for my parcel lodgements, I use another PO and never have they made any comments about using tape!
