Warning ! Site wide technical glitch affecting ETA of items

I have noticed since Wednesday, eBay is miscalculating ETA of items and advertising the wrong ETA.

Whether the item has 1, 2,3,5, or 7 business days as handling, the ETA is calculating at same business day. Only those items with 10 business days handling are displaying correct ETA.

ETA is not including the handling time in addition to postage time and only displaying postage time as the ETA.

If you are a seller, check for yourself (if you have handling of more than 1 day) and report the issue to eBay so they fix it.

If you are a buyer, check handling time before buying and add that to the displayed ETA.

I picked this up when I ordered something on Wednesday and asked the seller why he still had not shipped as of today and he advised me that he had 4 business days as handling time advertised on the site and sure enough when he is supposed to ship it by is a business day after the earliest I am (according to the site) to receive it. ie it was showing ETA 9-16 May but his handling time would be 12 May before he even shipped it. The "true" ETA should have displayed 13-20 May

I'm pretty easy going but if I was an unhinged buyer expecting the item on 16 May the latest, I would be going off the deep end with disputes and negs against an innocent seller.

So what if he had posted on day 1 of his handling time.  Because he has 4 days to ship, does not mean he can not post it at the earliest opportunity.

Is this because the seller uploaded tracking?

I have 10 day handling time, since Covid......but I post the same day or next.

If I upload tracking, eBay assumes it has been sent....nothing the seller can do about it.....

I might upload tracking at midnight - that doesn't mean I've sent it...

Is this what you mean?

No Seller had not uploaded tracking nor sent it yet

The site is calculating ETA wrong and displaying the incorrect info

If you have 10 days handling time, check what it states on eBay, then change it to 7  or 5 days, it will reduce ETA by 9 rather than 3 or 5

Wow, that really does sound like a bad glitch.

Some sellers might post right at the start of their handling time but for those who don't, there could be some disappointed customers around. You'd think most would allow a day or two extra before opening claims. but you couldn't rely on it, I guess.

Mind you (and I say this as a customer, not a seller), I  can see why some sellers may tick a box to indicate up to 10 days handling time as it allows a bigger window for Australia post to get it there, but I think any seller who believes that they could actually take 10 business days before posting is pushing their luck.

I have started to receive complains and buyers opening cases due to this issue. Called eBay and was told by eBay rudely that I just have to resolve with the buyer myself, they dun take responsibility for that

Just got hit by an INR.

item ordered Friday 9th

item posted Tuesday 13th (2 day handling time)

Ebay is showing an ETA of 13th to 16th.  And allowing numpties to log INR claims.

Most of my customers are regulars and i don't anticipate dramas.  The customer in question is new to me

I guess we'll see how the ebay support address it.  Has anybody raised it with them and if so, what was the answer?

Happening here as well. Three INRs for Domestic Letter Untracked orders which showed the buyers delivery dates that would be optimistic even if the order was sent as a tracked parcel.

One was sent on 9th of May (as per my handling time) and showed an estimated delivery of 9th-13th of May. How on Earth does Ebay expect it to arrive on the same day it was shipped?
