LOL thats a funny thing you say that , A relative of mine is an Australian iconic postman.  Tom Kruse. no not the movie star. Google it Australia post outback postman Tom Kruse. Built like a sherman tank worked like 4 draught horses. The stories that i have been told would amaze people. Have picks of him loading the truck , he is lifting 44 gallon drums on to the back of his truck  and yes there FULL . I can hardly move a full 44 gallon drum 215 litres for the modern person. I have no idea how the hell you would pick it up head hieght or at all for that matter. God **bleep** thats frightening stuff.  He did it for ever. Just ask Australia post.  And you would not ever be allowed to load like he did . not 2 truck loads on a truck but 3+.

Bring back the good old days ,  HUH what the hell for , Im all for progress done in the right manner and spirit and im all for heratige to nothing wrong with a mix after all mixing it up is the spice of life.  But my point is you dont have to bend us over just because we agree to progress. Taxes pay for progress well they should , not Pollies free lunches  holdays and 5 star everything.  Perks is the modern day game perk this and perk that.   And Perk you all while there at it.

Arr Australia where  the blind lead the blind to taxation oblivian.  Do any of you know how much of the revenue each year goes back to the gov in taxes.   Give you a tip  starts with A ends with L and has 3 letters.

Re: What the hell is up with AusPost

I just want my mail delivered on time so I don't continually get emails and feedback from angry customers that their item has not arrived or took ages to arrive, quite simple really. As it stands I am loosing money, customers and my business reputation on ebay is getting trashed all because Australia Post is not doing the job I pay them to do.

That's cos men were men in the good ol' days!

it's ok, I have drag out my own soap box about how the unions etc have pansied up the workforce and destroyed managerial prerogative and work ethic....

But I'll save that for a day when I feel like a public flogging.

Re: What the hell is up with AusPost

LOL i dont think even back then there would be to many that could lift a 44 head high.   In fact im not sure how the hell it could even be done.  If you have ever felt the wieght of 44 gallon drum full of oil its extreamly heavy.   Shees thats one mean feat. I no many oil delivery drivers from the old days when the 44 was dropped from the back of the truck on to a couple of tyres to get em off,  Even they after working with these there entire life can not pick them up never alone put them on the back of a truck. Oil depo,s use to have platforms same hieght as the tray to put them on with sack trucks.

OH and your 100 percent correct about the unions they are tying the country up in red tape and **bleep**ising everything, they are no longer for the worker but like all minorities working to there own agenda for there own cause. And it does not include the worker he is just the prop.

No the standard answer is they are large letters so you just wipe your hands of them or tell me I should have to pay for registered to ensure they make it to their destination.

Re: What the hell is up with AusPost

Australia Post's pricing for small parcels is ridiculous

I want to sell turntable styii (needles) overseas. They're in tiny boxes but because

they're not 'documents' I have to send as a small parcel which would cost $18.20 to the UK

Why can I get a full price CD from Florida for $7 free postage and have to pay an exhorbitant

amount to send something a quarter the size? ($14.10 to the US)

I think AP are just out of touch with what people need, I can't send guitars anymore because

of the restrictive size limits

I think they make so much from the overpriced document shuffling service for big business that

they're just going to leave those annoying parcel deliveries to the new guys, like Smart Send etc

Those SmartSend satchels sound like good value, but it doesn't really help if you want to sell OS

Hi harley_babes_hoard,

If you don’t have a tracking number we can search our Redistribution Centre for the Large letters. This is where letters are filed that cannot be delivered for some reason or another. We store them there for 1 year. If you’d like to give us a call we can search.
