I am so sick of buyers asking to cancel an order after they win an auction, Our when they select buy it now and then after they have done that they asked to cancel the order this has happened to me four times this week and it’s driving me nuts. Do I have to cancel the order when they requested it or can I not cancel it and then take out an unpaid case against them when they do not pay? Thank you in advance

Dear xxxxxxx
Sure, no problem. I understand you would prefer to cancel your purchase.
The method I use for closing a transaction is to follow the case procedure through ebay, hence you will still have the opportunity to purchase by paying within 4 days. Should you still wish to cancel the transaction, simply ignore the case and I shall close it on day 4. This then ensures that my ebay fees are credited back to my account. Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
Open a non paying case, this way buyer gets a strike against their account and you are ensured of getting fees back.
If you send a cancellation he may not tick it and you will need to wait 7 days anyway before it's cancelled and you can relist. If he ticks non acceptance, you don't get the fees back and you can no longer open a case.

Up to you if you do a cancellation or UIC.
If you do an UIC then the buyer gets a strike and with 2 or more they cannot bid or buy from sellers with blocks.
But you need to wait 4 days to open the UIC then a further 4 days and close it if they don't pay.
I just had one and I didn't respond to the message to cancel (her son made the purchase apparently) and with a few hours to go before I open a case, she paid. I think she new I was going for an UIC as she is also a seller.
Also make sure you have your blocks set up which will weed out serial non payers.
