Why do some sellers get a pass?

Why do some sellers get a pass?

🎄😀🇺🇲

Having read many posts about sellers getting accounts restricted for something or nothing, I wonder why some sellers are continually protected by ebay.

I realize it is all about money. Ebay must get enough income from the rule breakers to turn a blind eye for years of rule breaking.

As a seller I often wonder why some buyers get a pass.

Thanks to all who have replied.

I suggest, you be careful responding to threads if you have little knowledge or ability to see the obvious.

Re: Why do some sellers get a pass?

You'll need to outline the particular problem you have with those sellers.

I can't tell from the links.

One seller there though has lower feedback % than I would like and has a few telling negatives & I personally would steer clear, just on that. I see ebay has labelled that seller as outstanding so nope, I wouldn't expect to see ebay doing anything to them any time soon.

Is your problem with the items? Are they fakes? I wouldn't know.

The fact is if a seller doesn't have many claims made against them, they can probably avoid any restrictions. And as long as they don't go around cancelling sales too often, they are probably safe.

There are some sellers on ebay with a dreadful record but I have to admit, I have seen the same for some buyers. People who have given absolutely dozens of negatives in a row to almost every seller.  And some who just don't pay, time after time and yet nothing seems to happen to them.

I don't know, maybe it is about the money, can't see what else it could be. Ebay is as capable as we are at seeing problem buyers and sellers.

I think the OP means the contact info /  phone number's included in the address on the listing page.

He's right.

A smaller seller would have their  listings removed  if they were reported  but eBay will  generally ignore most policy violations  from the   larger sellers .

Re: Why do some sellers get a pass?

They may have permission from ebay,  I have a very vague recollection of sellers being able to obtain permission from ebay, but I also believe it was mainly available to  high volume/business sellers or anchor stores.  Not sure if it is still applicable, but the policy does still refer to permission from ebay.

What is the policy?

Publishing or displaying contact information in a listing without the permission of eBay, or except as required by law, is not allowed. User contact information includes information used to contact another member outside of eBay, or any other contact information that is personally identifiable, such as:
