will i be penalised if i fail to post a package on time?

I'm waiting on stock for an item which I have sold via my ebay store. The order now says postage overdue. I'm in communication with the buyer who is happy with a short wait. Will this affect my eBay rating?

How long do you have to post an article back if it is not right?
