Last week eBay started including the buyer's shipping address in their "Sale confirmed:..." emails.
Today I have made a sale, and the shipping address in the eBay email is different to the shipping address given in the PayPal payment confirmation! What fun!
Obviously I'll check with the buyer and alert eBay to the discrepency, but just wanted to make this issue known so others can avoid a potential problem.
...And while typing this, the buyer has responded to confirm that it is the address provided by PayPal that is correct, and that the one displayed in eBay's email is a previous address from 7 years ago. So it looks like eBay's system can potentially source the incorrect address from their records.
When I go to create the shipping label through eBay, however, the correct address (i.e. the PayPal sourced one) is being displayed.
Go figure.

While you are getting address notifications from paypal, use them.
When the only notification is from ebay.....well good luck with it.
Thanks lyndal, but I'm already well aware of the correct way to handle this, I'm simply letting others know the issue is still in play.
There's no need for you to keep replying each time there's an update.

That's what I'll be using
One seller has reported otherwise.

Okay so the strategy seems to be to ignore the address in the eBay email, and check the address in the Paypal email against the one on the order details page.
The one on the order details page is the one they selected during checkout, as far as I can tell. In the case of the person who said their customer's was wrong - perhaps the customer had selected the wrong address in Paypal?
I'm finding that all the Paypal email addresses and order details addresses match up. As a precaution, I've been checking each one and also taking a screenshot in case eBay does something quirky like changing the addresses on the order details after they "fix" this glitch ...

I'm actually thinking eBay might have now corrected this issue. My last 8 sales have all had the correct postal address in the eBay email, and as of 3 August (could be earlier, as I had several days without a sale—it's probably been since the start of the month), eBay have updated the format of the 'Your eBay item sold!...' emails.

Further to the above, after several more orders all with correct addresses showing in both respective emails, I reckon this is sorted.
