isnt australia post refunding on lost parcels anymore?

Hi in 7 yrs i have only had to refund around 4 buyers with items not received. Australian post always used to send a money order out if they couldnt find it. I have had a lady buy some items that went into a large prepaid bag worth $60. I know its only covered to $50 but.... i have just received a letter today saying they wont refund as it was an ordinary article and they have 22 million items daily and its not possible to track it down??

So if this is so looks like we all need to register everything, im pretty shocked this time they wont refund when i personally handed it into the post office.

their refund was always ''at the PO's discretion'' and NO they are no longer paying out
many sellers have reported here that they were knocked back in the last few months.

the best way is to use the Click and Send system, with the special eBay/Aust Post satchels,
all you need are the satchels (10c+ each) buy on eBay
here>> http://stores.ebay.com.au/Australia-Post-Store

a printer and a credit card to pay the postage as you go.

then you lodge over the counter at your PO, (nothing more to pay, you paid online same day), and the PO staff give you a receipt... fully PayPal covered.

i dont sell here so paypal isnt an issue but... i dont blame aussie post with all the paycrap buyers saying they dont receive items im pretty sure they were sending money orders everywhere.

i just rang up this lady was hopeless didnt know what i was talking about and had to go higher up and they told me they have changed it 2 months ago. Who wants to send everything registered.

sooo this click and send im abit confused is it prepaid bags and i cant send things through the letterbox i have to go into a post office??

in the past i have never been knocked back this is all too hard for a small time seller

No they are not pre-paid, you buy the bags for 10c+ each from aust post online (500gr and 3kg) or you can buy various size boxes (max.15kg) at the PO.

you pay for the POSTAGE part onLine with a c/card and printout thelabel to attach to the satchel.

you can drop them in the red PO boxes, but for full paypal coverage safety you need to get them scanned in at the PO and then they are fully trackable on line right up to delivery to your buyer.

This>>http://www.clickandsend.com.au/ is their website

isnt australia post refunding on lost parcels anymore?

so if i use this and just put the bags in the red po boxes they are trackable and covered if they are lost?

so like for a 500g bag it is 10c for the bag and how much for the postage? Does it work out the same as the $6.60 prepaid bags?

may NOT be trackable if they are not scanned into system during the delivery process

its only $5.50 for a 500gr bag and an extra dollar (Ithink) for signature on arrival)... you'll need to check out their website and familiarize yrself with the process

Apparently if you hassle AP and threaten them with the ombudsman, you will still get your $50 compensation.

Just keep ringing until you get someone that will listen.
