Is it true that to sign up for managed payments, eBay demands heaps of personal information, and also we have to once again prove who we are and upload bank account details etc, etc. All of this personal informtion is then sent to a third party which eBay is then not responsible for. I would like to hear from those who have already signed up, as to whether this is true or not.

No point talking to India. CS is in the Philippines.
If you don't sign up, you won't be able to sell. Simple, really.

I see no such option. When I go to update, I have two choices in a dropdown menu - a driver's licence or a passport.

For anyone lacking both a passport and driver's licence, I spoke to ebay via chat about this and their advice was to use the Driver's Licence option but to enter the info from whatever government ID you use instead of a driver's licence. I make no comment on this regarding privacy concerns, but the page does not say you can do this. I had to speak to someone to find out. I also recommended they change what it says on the page so that people know this is possible.
