Hi in a prior selling post (may have been in the 3 free relists but unsure) someone said ebay help had mentioned the 40 free listings (monthly?) wouldn't be around much longer. eek! and I'm not even referring to the now almost non existant promos! anyone else heard of this...or was it wrong advice (I hope).

I call BS.
Firstly, In a large business like Ebay, call centre are the front line, uneducated minions. Companies dont tell people on minimum wage, often in a different country altogether, about business plans like this, until its officially been passed by a board and actually put into action... and often not until the day its literally being rolled out. Its a very basic risk management issue, internally and externally.
Id say, if the conversation happened at all and the poster wasnt simply trying to validate their own agenda, the call centre dude was having a guess, based on what is happening elsewhere in the world etc etc.... but that they know as much as you or I.
I think Ebay is headed toward large, name sellers. An online shopping centre of sorts. This excludes small and hobby sellers. So, I think their fees will change dramatically sooner or later. So, they could remove the free listings eventually.
But a front line call centre minion, in such a large company, in another country to head office, possibly not even a direct employee, but contracted, being on the inside know? nope.

That was a claim by a particular poster, allegedly from Customer Support (and we all know their provenance) and not borne out by any facts as yet

Why let a good rumour be sullied by the truth

I did mention in The US, they have cut the monthly free listings from 50 to 20, unless you are in collectables, you get another 20 auction only.
They have had no store promos since late last year. What happens over there, normally will come here, so make the most of what we have. I read it in their spring Ebay letter. Not very many happy small sellers there now.

I read the U.S Forums when I,m bored and from discussions it looks like they have recently had their "freebies" reduced to 20 per month. I,m not sure how many they had before or how current the thread was, but I was searching 2015 information. Maybe some-one with more knowledge can comment on this.

Hope that does not come here. $1.50 to list a $3 item is out of the question already.

and I get that we don't receive them by right, but it doesn't look promising that ebay will issue any end of FY free listings either. shame!
