I think it is pointless ebay enforcing no email addresses in ebay messages and it just makes it difficult if I need to send information to a buyer. I do know how to get around it but.....I am not doing anything wrong.

open notepad or word, in big font type you email address. Take a photo of it and attach it to your ebay messages. problem solved.

Or get it from the sold listing if they have bought something. Click on the bids (if it was an auction) and then show email addresses, or get it from the sold email notification.

Some sites have bots that can even detect that! I don't think eBay does though. One site, which I can't remember now, which was a while ago, had such good bots, they could pick up almost anything. If people wanted to share their email address, they bascially had to write a sentence and put a capital letter to eventually spell out what they were trying to say. e.g Building A Big Yard AgainsT Great MAssIve Logs DO someTimes etc etc....you get the picture LOL!

Yeah, ebay are pretty inconsistent about upholding their rules, but I guess it depends on which ones they think are most important (eg report theft of images = no action). Maybe words like yahoo and gmail are flagged somehow.

Have only done that a couple of times and images were removed very quickly.

Its back to the ebay concerns about encouraging off ebay dealing where they dont get their cut! In reality I often want to send say links to manufacturers websites or I can recall wanting to give a manufacturers email to a Customer who wanted more technicl informaton before buying and ebay messages just cut out the link. Stupid thing is that the Customer then used google and found my website and purchased it there instead after using Contact Us on the website to allow me to put him in contact with the Manufacturer which is what I tried to do on ebay messages first time around!
The other frustrating thing is that ebay messages are limited to 2000 characters so if you have a long message youre stuffed!
Good stuff ay!
