Joe strikes me as a very decent trader indeed  - as well as a boardie that has created some interest and fun on the boards of late.

Re: now I know why a post loose money

Does anyone know what would happen to one of these envelopes if a phony address was provided at checkout, would the envelope go to lost mail or get sent to whoever they decide to rip off???

From what the PO has told me, it would be returned to whoever they have decided to rip off Smiley LOL

The only problem being, they are not using a Return Address & presumably not including a Packing Slip or Invoice.    My local PO did mention that in certain circumstances AP may open the envelope to try & identify the sender.  Something tells me he's a bit too cluey to get caught that way too.

The only chance Aust Post have of catching him is if he always uses the same Red Box and the sorting centre is wise to the fact that these envelopes are all coming from the same box.  Even then it would be an almost impossible task to catch them.  There's a red box outside my local PO with cameras as it's in a shopping centre, but there's also one 2 minutes up the road at the bus stop (of all places) so no cameras to catch anyone there.

What if you looked up who was the head of Sydney Water had gave that name and a work address of Sydney Water as the posting address!

Do you think the seller might think he had been found out?

OR . . . . for just one dollar each, what if ten readers of this thread did the same thing and gave the same name and Parramatta posting address.

Now that would be funny!

Re: now I know why a post loose money

OK people, time to resurrect this thread.....my 2 orders have arrived but in one envelope.  It was in the letterbox but only came in under 20mm with a bit of fiddling as there were 8 pens, 2 short rulers and 2 erasers, which all tended to bunch up together.

As expected, it was a Sydney Water envelope but not opened at the side.  It was very definitely opened quite roughly at the top and taped over without much care at all....it was an obviously reused envelope.   But the strange thing is that at the top corner near the Postage paid box is a note in the same writing as the address which says .139.  I am pretty sure that is not a postage price.

If he is putting them in the red box, the envelope should be getting cancelled somewhere along the way but there is no evidence at all of this happening.

As for the order itself....he is wide open to a SNAD dispute.   The pens are gel ink rollerball, not ballpoint and he sent a mix of blue and black ink when I requested black.  One of the ruler/eraser sets was the wrong colour...one was what I asked for.

I am not about to make a fuss about anything.....I got good value or money but not what was requested.

Now to decide what feedback to leave.
