refunded buyer how to get a final value credit from ebay?

Never had to do this before but due to the buyer not receiving the item, cause auspost stuffed up, a full refund was issued.

Now my question is how do I get a credit back for the final value fee? the closest thing I could find is "transaction cancellation", but this requires that the buyer agrees to cancel?

THx in advance.

how was the refund instigated?

via a PayPal dispute, or did you just issue it yourself?

Is the buyer likely to agree to a mutual cancellation?

have you broached the subject with them?

Hey sj_wedding_auction,

I’m awfully sorry to hear you had to refund a customer due to a fault of ours. I’d understand you being upset and frustrated.

May I ask if you were able to have the situation formally by Auspost? If not please send us an email and we’ll have someone contact you within 48 working hours.

On behalf of Australia Post please accept my apology for the poor service you and your customer received from us.

I issued it myself via paypal. Wanted to do it quickly as I felt bad for the buyer for not receiving the goods.

Regarding complaint to auspost, I don't think there's much you can do for me seeing it was just a regular envelope post. I sent off two packages as large letters and both were "returned to sender" with no reason why. Weight and height both checks out and I have sent many in the past without problem..
