selling limit - fraud and false advertising by ebay

Since ebay introduced their offer of 30 free listings per month I have been using it; yesterday (3.1.2013) I wanted to upload twenty items with turbolister; only ten were uploaded, for the rest it said that I had exceeded my monthly limit; never heard of this before !!! Checking on ebay etc I could not find anything execpt general information; following ebay's instructions in these to find my limits ( all selling -> account limits or on the sellerdashboard) there were no links or information re my limits to be found anywhere. Complete blank. At the bottom of my 'all selling' page there is a reference to the 30 free lsitings, simply stating "used 10, left 20". Even trying to relist an unsold item results in the same message re account limit displayed. I phoned ebay this morning, just to be told some general bla bla about them updating and reviewing, which really meant nothing to me. received an email later saying " ...the current limits will not be eligible for appeal until after 30-Jan-13. You are welcome to write back on 30-Jan-13 for another review. This should provide enough time for some recent sales to be delivered and feedback received. At that time, we'd be happy to review your account and, if possible, adjust your selling limit to allow additional activity to take place. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to build a positive selling history on eBay and to follow all selling policies. You can also monitor your performance in your seller dashboard to ensure that you are maintaining your excellent service to buyers, and keeping your account in good standing."

Ebay is advertising and promoting its first 30 listings per month FREE OF FEES ! So what happened to that  ???? I can list only ten items, let alone get to the 31st item to pay the listing fee for !!!! THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING  ! ebay just turns around and says "no"; I actually have to contact ebay on 30. January to appeal and get at least the limit of the first 30 listings free! WHAT KIND OF CON IS EBAY RUNNING HERE ????

Typical though hmmphh... I don't want to do 30 a month anyway as power seller nonsense will ensue rapidly...powerseller not powerseller..ahem. But the point is...again...its just not true

:^O Sorry, I couldn't help the chuckle. This reminded me so much of the time I travelled by train from Norwich to London with my twin sister.

When you book your ticket on that line you also book your seat, but in practice no-one takes much notice of seat numbers unless the train is full. In this case, as the carriage was almost empty we decided to sit further up the carriage with friends who had booked separately.

This didn't stop sis from making her point however. As we walked up the carriage she paused next to the seat which should have been hers and said in a loud voice to the guy sitting there. 'You're actually sitting in my seat - but it doesn't matter because I wasn't going to sit there anyway.'

Thanks for your reply putney...informative and also appreciated.

Now, do tell.....where did you glean the information, if you don't mind me asking?? It certainly doesn't appear as an option, when one goes through the process of listing under a new ID.

Not once was I steered toward anything like..... "Do you have an existing ID in good standing to qualify for 30 free listings on this new id"?? (otherwise you will only get 10.... moowahhahahaha)

Well, despite the myriad of answers given to the OP...is it relevant what the OP's listings look like or are about?...the point is, they're spot on about the main issue of this thread..."re selling limit..fraud and false advertising" etc...........seems that way to moi as well...

It is relevant with the OP because they might have a few problems getting their restrictions lifted and there is no fraud or false advertising by ebay. And no they are not spot on.

You might want to go back to an earlier post by me in  which I have c&p a listing title then you will see why the OPs listings are relevant to all that has been said here.

im a little bit perplexed, apparently i offended someone with my comment i made, i received an email from ebay saying that i was hostile, abusive and disruptive on my comment, maybe because i didnt support the OP and he didnt like my opinion i dont know, but i was in no way hostile abusive or aggressive in any way.

Don't worry dazzman. You only have to disagree with someone to be reported for hostile comments.....and it is not necessarily reported by the person you disagreed with.:-(

Why would you drag up a redundant old thread just to make a comment that has nothing to do with the original topic? Didn't you know that posting off topic is in breach of the board policies?
