I am receiving this message - even after changing password!

This is driving me nuts! Every single time I log in I do a security test and get the same email. I have rang and spoken to them and just get the run around. Don't you hate it when a big company are in a world of their own and no longer care about the people who got them there?
I searched a part for a friends car and next time I log in I get all this advertainment for a Pajero, AND they put it on a page in "My Garage". Rang them up asking why and got the "don't know what you are talking about, please send a snapshot". No wonder I rarely log in anymore.
I prefer the other big site. For $7 you get 2 day delivery and entertainment!! No extra money on items that are suppose to be included with your plus subscription.

Use whatever site you want to use
It has already been posted on the forum here numerous times why it happens
Little point wasting your time with eBay CS who only know what their scripts tell them when it has been answered already (the 'new device' issue, that is)
*Not just eBay it happens on, it's every time I log into FlyBuys

It would be nice if at least there would be an IP address stated in these emails, but alas none. All it states is:
Device
Unknown
Approximate location
<somewhere removed>
(may not match your exact location)
Great! "may not match your exact location" what is that supposed to mean!
I've received a few of these mails and considering that I have a static IP address all it leads to is my next statement:
In my opinion this only creates more fear that someone else is attempting to log into your account and endless unneeded password/passphrase changes, nothing like writing on a piece of paper and attaching it to your screen..

It's nothing to do with your IP address.
It's various devices - tablets - phones - PC - etc.

It happens every time you clear cookies because that removes the cookie that tells eBay that this is a known device! You do not need to change all your passwords and get all worked up every time you clear cache and cookies because that is something that you should do regularly!

"may not match your exact location" what is that supposed to mean!
Location information is provided by the network that was used to sign in to eBay. The location may be the network provider's headquarters. If the user is signing in using a VPN or hotspot, or certain kinds of privacy software, it may be a location far away.
If you did not sign in to eBay around the time indicated, or use the browser type indicated, or if you do not recognize the location from the last time you signed in and received the same message, you should consider changing your eBay password.

If that were the case - everyone using Telstra would show Melbourne.

Yep. I have my location set, but they always think I'm in Queensland for some reason.
I'm in Melbourne.
