Sending funds using PayPal-a total joke

On the 23rd his month I bought an item and immediately transferred funds from my bank account using Paypal.
There is 29th today and funds are still are not cleared.
The item in question is a tent which I require for up coming holidays.
Will PayPal provide a compensation as I will have to buy another tent (in a shop)?
Will some from Paypal respond to this topic but without usual gimmicky excuses?

Re: Sending funds using PayPal-a total joke

hi coops, thanks for your input. a cheque can take like 6 business days sometimes
the deceiving part about PP is that the money comes out of the bank account usually the same day, if not well at least within 24hrs but doesnt show in paypal for like 7 days or so. that is wrong.
even with the banks taking 5 days or so with cheques thats wrong too cause we all know the banks are using it somewhere for that 5 days or so, its not right.

Re: Sending funds using PayPal-a total joke

Consider... why does a NORMAL cheque take a few days to clear?

Because the piece of paper needs to be "snail mailed" to the other financial institution and then that institution needs to test the voracity of the details.

What piece of paper or part of the transaction does paypal need to "snail mail"?

My credit union processes direct debit/bpay transfers into and out of my other bank accounts in 24 hrs. 36 maximum.

I can transfer from Commonwealth to credit union in 48 hrs max.

Paypal payments take 4 working days minimum to reach my credit union account and 5 to 6 to reach my commonwealth account.

How come I can internally transfer between accounts 2 or 3 times faster than paypal transfers appear?

Answer.....

I dont make anything by holding onto my own money intra transfer.

yes they can take the money out of your account but when it comes to pay the seller they like to hang onto it for to long.i am still waiting for mine to be paid and will never use paypal again,

it is faster to just transfer straight from your bank account

Re: Sending funds using PayPal-a total joke

this thread is TWO YEARS OLD

why resurrect it

if you do not have a cr card linked to your paypal bank a/c sure its quicker to just do bank deposit, but you have no buyer protection and if you meet an untrustworthy seller, you'll loose your $$

why not just hold a small balance inyour paypal a/c to pay for any purchases immediately?

sending via paypal to yr bank is the same as 'clearing' a cheque it takes days to go thru the right channels.

in future if you have any problems, start your own new thread for it. dont drag up 2 yr old threads that may contain out of date info
