Beware of seller

I have bought 2 kids smart watches, a blue and a pink, for a total of AUD$121.42 after discount from seller REMOVED on ebay on the 27th of November, 2020. Upon arrival, the pink watch's battery does not hold its charge as compared to the blue watch. Within 6 to 7 hours, the pink watch would go from 100% to 0%. The blue watch would last a day and a half on average. I did reset the watch a few times, but it did not help. The seller did refund $20 as it was still usable. After 2 months, my blue watch totally cannot work. It does not switch on or charge anymore. The pink one, which seller partially refunded $20, only hold a charge for a few hours daily; from 100% to 0% in 2 to 3 hours just sitting on my desk. These watches are meant for tracking kids with GPS in the event that they are lost. I wanted to return BOTH for a refund or replacement. Before buying, the ebay website stated that there is a 1 year warranty on the watches. But the seller decline the ebay return request, stopped responding, and has since taken down the ebay website. I have even sent the seller a video showing the problem. As it is more than 30 days, ebay refused to help as well.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS SELLER!!!!!!

kat... easy to find the seller from the OP's feedback.

I don't understand why anyone concerned about their kid's safety would buy such obviously cheap junk.

I did open a Paypal case as well. Paypal contacted me and said they could not do anything.

Did you open the 2 disputes at the same time?  If so, that is why paypal has said they cannot do anything.

The rules of both ebay and paypal are very specific.....you can only open one dispute at a time.  The first should be with ebay and if that fails you can then turn to paypal.

Because not everyone's rich like you 😃 And the smart watches are just added safety. We, as parents, do not allow our kids out of our sights at all times. Hope that answers your question.

So parents who buy cheap watches = less concerned about their kids' safety? Parents who do not buy any watches at all? No regards to their kids' safety? Holier than thou??? Smiley LOL

Just an update to the case, my credit card has acted on my behalf and refunded the amount from the seller's bank. If the seller decides to appeal, he has to prove that the watches are up to standard and are still working. So for all those who unfortunately are facing similar situations, your last resort is your credit card.

Glad you got it sorted.

If you actually read the replies you got from members here you would have realised that it is only permissable to open 1 dispute at a time.  Ebay always first then if that fails Paypal.  Your comments to members about their wealth ot lack of are totally uncalled for.

You were given info you required but you decided responders here had no idea.

Thanks daydream_12. If you were to read my message carefully too, I bought 2 watches and I opened up 2 ebay dispute at different times (seller gave 2 separate invoices etc). When that did not work, I did open up a paypal dispute. Please do actually read carefully as well.

Also, it is fine for others to tell others how concern, or lack of, they are about the safety of their kids? But it is not okay to comment back? think not as well. If you read my reply carefully, you would have noticed my point is not about the wealth of others 🙂

What are you on about when you said “ You were given info you required but you decided responders here had no idea.” Since when I say so or gave such indication. Please do kindly read the comments and replies in their contexts. I believe it is you who are not actually reading anything before commenting.

Beware of seller

Hi lyndal1838,

I did not open both at the same time. It was 2 ebay disputes at different times (both watches were given separate invoices etc even though they were purchased at the same time.). When they failed, I then opened a paypal dispute. 🙂

Now this bit of information would have been very helpful in your initial post it would have saved a lot of angst.
