Ebay gift voucher

I have recenlty used a ebay gift voucher of $10. I made a purchase using the the gift voucher and the voucher was not honoured due to "techinal difficulties". Pay Pal did reimburse $10 cash into my account. However, I have just found out that my bank has charged me a $9 dishonour fee due to the purchase. I only had enough money in my account to cover the ebay purchase with the $10 gift voucher. Because the paypal account is set up directly to my bank account the bank honored the purchase and now have charged me the $9 dishonour fee.

If my gift voucher was to work as intended by paypal I would not have the problem mentioned above.

I would like paypal to reimburse me for the banks $9 dishonour fee.

I need help please.

If this went to court I suggest you do your home on "civil law" and "causation"

Maybe then, you will have some understanding on how things operate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, my mistake, nobody would use that many exclamation marks to emphasise a point unless they were 100% sure that they were correct - guess I better tell my lecturer we both completely wasted our time when we covered consumer law, and that all the responses I gave in tests, essays etc now need to be remarked as "wrong". 

I'll take you more seriously if you cite and explain (in your own words, no copy pasting) what you are referring to, because again you have written words, but not actually explained how they affect or support your cause. 

And just to make it clear, I understand very well you had recourse with eBay and/or PayPal in this situation, the issue is that you made it the seller's problem unnecessarily.

I almost find it laughable, but more ludicrous that you can lay blame on the seller. As others have stated, the seller has no knowledge whatsoever that you used a voucher to make the purchase. And then to open a Dispute for non-receipt, well that is just a plain lie not to mention fraud!

Regardless of whether the voucher was valid or not it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have enough funds to cover your transaction.
