Hi,

I am just wondering why some sellers don't leave feedback for buyers until after the buyer has left feedback for them?

why not leave it when payment has been made

This is what you ended up saying and in one of my other posts I said most sellers probably can't do this as their not at the computer 24/7 to see when payment has been made therefore can't leave feedback immediately and now you're turning things around as if to say this is not what you mean't so why then didn't you say this way earlier before we all misunderstood you sorry I should have said I misunderstood you

no it was always about why do some sellers not provide feedback till after the buyer provides theirs, it got twisted about as some tried to infer it meant other things, but it was always just about that one question

And the answer is still the same. I dont want to leave pos. feedback for a buyer as soon as I have posted the item, only to have them claim they have not recieved it when tracking says otherwise, or have them do a chargeback on thier credit card and keep the item, or claim it was not as described but refuse to return it for a refund ( postage at my expense )  or use it intensivly for two weeks to do a job, then ask to return it, worn out or damaged. I dont think that is unreasonable.

IMO your use of the acronym FOC in response to my posts on an ebay trader discussion board speaks volumes about your "style"

On topic... I find it interesting OP that if you have a look at the practices of the most successful sellers, regardless of volume or $$$, but successful in their market segment and size of operation, they all seem to leave feedback for their buyers after receiving payment or posting goods.

COFFEE IN HAND, Grumpy look, ............Cats, just wondering what you base that assumption on ? Sounds like a bit of a wild guess to me.

I base my observations on buying and selling on eBay.  The same as others do.  I am constantly researching a range of markets both to improve my existing activities and for future endeavours.  No wild guess, but my view of the world,  others can research themselves and may find something different, or not.   Though TBH I don't expect that they would, researcH aside, I actually think (READ - IMO) its only common sense in a business setting.

as I have discovered a seller can only provide positive feedback anyway, and I was just informed that if a seller does not leave a buyer feedback it doesn't have any impact on the buyer anyway

I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. You must operate in an entirly different field to me. I operate in a pretty blokey sort of field where it is a bit of a suprise if you get feedback at all.
