Feedback

Hi,

I am just wondering why some sellers don't leave feedback for buyers until after the buyer has left feedback for them?

I sell and research other markets in addition to the selling activity on this ID.

Re my comments regarding the practices of the most successful sellers on ebay  - I stand by that my observation is that they all seem to leave feedback for their buyers after receiving payment or posting goods - which is my simply my opinion based on my observations, as success is subjective,  sorry if I did not make that clear enough in my post. Cats, I understand what you are saying. I just dont think "one size fits all" stategies work anywhere on ebay, including with feedback. Different sellers find success with different strategies targeted at thier own market segment. I can appreciate in your field of womans fashion, feedback ( and when it is issued ) could be very important. In my field of "blokes sheds" it carries much less importance. Blokes have an attitude of "i,ll do that when I get around to it ". Everyone in the field knows it and are happy with this casual approach. My point being that the OP,s ( and your ) original assumption that " it is rude for all sellers not to leave feedback when an item is paid for" may have merit in some situations, but not all. Every seller needs to build thier own business model, one which works for them and thier target market.

I suspect that some of the passion feedback questions evoke relates closely to the facebook / twitter phenomina. ( brief instant short messages, often superficilous in nature ) I think you will find this is more of a "chick thing" and many older blokes just dont get it. I have neither facebook nor twitter accounts and dont know many blokes that do. Feedback has an important role to play in judging a sellers ( and to some degree buyers ) character, but for many people the timing is of much less importance than the content. Many newer members visit the boards seeking guidence on success in ebay. It is important not to pidgeon hole ideas as being "the best and only way to successs" when we should be encouraging each individual to try new things and find what works for them and thier target market.
