This will be my first Global Shipping Program experience - to date I have avoided purchasing from sellers who use this program.
I was charged around US$24 for "Priority shipping" (the same item if sent via USPS First Class Intl would be $12-$14). For some odd reason I thought Priority would mean 'fast' so was happy to pay the extra $10 or so.
Seems the seller shipped the item on the 28th August. Apparently package left Fedex/Erlanger facility 3rd Sept. So 7 days and still in the US. I guess this should be expected if multiple carriers are involved. BUT the fedex site is giving an estimated delivery 16th Sept.
*sigh*
I will be watching this with interest. I won't be doing this on a regular basis that's for sure.
One positive is that I have managed to help 'educate' a number of US sellers - some of who had never even shipped overseas - with
numerous items safely arriving by USPS First Class International.

Chezzy, the reason your item will wait for a week before delivery is because Pitney Bowes has only paid FedEx for Economy shipping despite you paying them for Priority shipping.
You just paid for 'shipping', the term used, International Priority Shipping' is just advertising puffery, and although often confused, has no connection with the USPS Priority International Shipping (Which since the abolition of surface mail for international items by the USPS also has no Priority ober anything.)
Unless you can track down some service specification that quantifies exactly what you can expect from a shipper. it is best to treat all terms like Priority and Expidited as just so much hot air.
What you get from the GSP is the cheapest delivery service they can find.

Package arrived this morning after 'sitting' for a week. I am really disappointed about this kind of caper. But atleast I know for myself now. Looks like it hasn't been repackaged, simply had a Pitney Bowes sticker and bit of ebay/GSP tape whacked on it. A small package weighing about 9oz.. USPS First Class International would have been considerably cheaper and quite possibly a week quicker.

Steve, can you please stop dredging up old threads which may contain
incorrect information. Policies and information changes over time.
You've already dredged one up - stick with that one
or start a new one for whatever complant you might have

Give us an item number and we'll have a look at the postage

It's OK. I found it. And it says GSP
Any listing that says 'No import charges at delivery' is a giveaway that it's GSP
Keep an eye out for that in future
