Pick up item

I wanted to buy an item and it is a pick up locally. The item was listed on Gumtree a while back and I was thinking of buying it then but had a slight discrepancy with seller so forgot about it.
If I buy item she will figure out its me and could dig her heels in and possibly cancel the sale(I'm not sure if she can do this)
I do have to go and pick up and am a bit apprehensive about it. She seems very fussy and demanding i. e. argued I couldn't take item on bus as it was too large which was rubbish. You can also make offer on item.

Welfare check is just a general term used, it by no means, means "Centrelink"., eg you haven't seen someone coming out of their house for a few days and are worried so send police around to check they're not injured or dead, or even the ambo's.

Thanks Michelle.....but what reason would you have to request a welfare check on someone you don't know and who apparently does not want to know you?

Re: Pick up item

Well to put it bluntly Lyndal I don't want to know them and I only said it "tongue in cheek" As far as some other posts saying buy it now you've gotta be joking what difference would that make. It's quite obvious she won't sell me the item I'll probably get a friend to buy it and who knows if she's going to sell it to them. The whole think is very risky. Extremely in fact. Like walking through a mine field.
And as far as Enigmabear mentioned well I might want but it's sure as hell the seller sure don't want me, so there. It takes 2 to Tango baby.
I hope she's reading the forum and getting a right old chuckle ha ha ha ha I'm not selling my stuff to her ha ha ha snigger snigger.

Re: Pick up item

michelle, just out of interest, what is the Buy-it-now price on the item and what were your offers?

I'm only asking so I can put everything about this thread in context.

Thanks

Re: Pick up item

thanks for that, it helps me a lot.

I still think you should hit the Buy-it-now button.  If you want it that badly then the extra $8 is a small price to pay.

By hitting the Buy-it-now button you will force the seller to communicate with you.

Yes I might end up doing that.

Re: Pick up item

I'm thinking, since these are their first items as a seller, either they didn't want the Make an Offer,  or ebay foisted it on them.

And maybe they haven't logged in since they listed.  It's only been 3 days.

And actually Michelle, you started this thread the same day they listed.

Not everyone lives on here.

3 listings.  Very confusing about what's included in what.

Same pics in 2 listings.

If your initial communication/contact is to insult someone, surely you aren't surprised when they cut off all communication?

Why do you expect sellers to do everything on your terms?  They own it so they have the right to set whatever price and terms they want to.  You have no rights whatsoever when it comes to someone else's belongings, yet when they won't do exactly as you want you publicly defame them.  How would you like it if someone did that to you?

Re: Pick up item

Who said I insulted someone. Get your facts straight. I've got no right to someone's belongings so you stated gee that's strange they're on the internet for sale my cash is as good as the next persons. Oh! boo hoo hoo hoo to you.
