shows Delivered (out of time frame), but is Returned To Sender, how I get refund?

Hello everyone.

How can I get refund?

The status in the ebay system shows Delivered, but far late after expected time frame and if you look the tracking history after "Delivery" statement it continues and end up with "Returned to Sender"

I bought and paid an item.

The auction was clearly written " Delivery: Estimated within 4-8 business days". The email I got also have Estimated delivery time frame.

But seller shipped the item on the last day of the written time frame.

Very long after all time frames the item arrived on the address and was immediately Returned to Sender because the address is not actual any more. No one have signed that "Delivery", package just have been returned to sender

However, ebay page shows Delivered but if you open the tracking history after the record Delivered, tracking continues with Returned to Sender in few more records showing that

Now the seller have both, the item and the money and refusing refund.

I opened ebay case "Item not received" to get refund . The seller refuse and no communication. If I escalate the case will I get refund? What can I do to get refund?

Maybe, maybe not Joe, but there is something very fishy about the whole story.

If the OP really wanted help he would post the item number or tracking number so we can see the whole story.  We only have his word that the seller didn't post for 2 weeks.

MR fun  you keep talking about the 4 to 8 business days ,and the seller posted it on the last day ,well if my maths are anygood,

you purchased on the 29/3 a sunday   ,8 business days would make it posted on the 10/4 a friday , how can the parcel get to your house ,then sent back to the seller by the 15/4 or earlier,  the date   you posted here  .

and at the best the parcel came on monday 13/4 ,that would of made it 9 business days, and you say you no longer live there ,you ordered a $100 parcel and did not allow for an extra day ,why would any body do that ,,what if it was left at your front door or what ever..    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm something smells fishy here and its not the cats food.

also that is of course we are talking about the headphones parcel, if not disregard this post

exclude easter public holidays they were 2 days only.

Just count WORKING BUSINESS DAYS and in term in business days was shiped after many WORKING BUSINESS DAYS. Not between 1-3 business days as the seller have put in the auction when he created.

Shipped after 2 weeks (can be seen on the tracking provided) when it was the last day of estimated delivery it was shipped and came very long after when I moved.

On the SAME TRACKING that seller provided can be seen that the package have came to the address and then is returned back to sender because I dont live on the address. So now the seller have the item and the money

If the seller has shipped 2 weeks after payment, when the stated handling time in the listing was 1- 3 business days, I too would very, very annoyed.

IMO if a seller is unable to honour their terms and conditions, including that there will be a signficant delay in sending goods that you have purchased, in the first instance they should contact you to advise of the delay, and confirm that you still want to proceed with the sale.

That there has been a move of address etc within the time frame of purchasing and the actual delayed delivery will be circumstances that I think  might be considered in the dispute process for Item not received, however I would advise backing up any case or appeal by having handy any claim proof of the actual relocation  with documentation such as final utility bills at your previous address etc.  so it can be uploaded if needed in the dispute process.

cats - I agree with what you are saying but the OP will not provide any information to back up what they are saying. If it is the headphones the seller has excellent feedback for the other items they have sold so something doesn't seem quite right here.

Yes Jen, I am aware of that.

However I am responding to the scenario presented by the OP.

I don't know why such proof is required on a board where there are regular posting IDs that defend their right to keep their trading details private.

The "something not quite right"  has now taken the form of several allegations by others that just serve to put others off posting on these boards IMO.

cats - the bit I can't understand is why the buyer didn't contact the seller about getting the parcel resent to their new address. Instead it appears they just opened an INR case.

They had made the purchase so would assume that if the parcel had been returned to the sender then they would contact the seller and ask them to resend it. Over the years we have had many parcels come back for all sorts of reasons and each time the buyer has wanted it resent.

As I see it too many posters were wanting to move in and debate with the OP the estimated delivery time issue and led the thread in a different direction, that it might have been otherwise.

Of course I think before doing anything a buyer should contact a seller, however I also understand that some buyers feel so aggrieved by a sellers actions that they do not chose to take this route.

In the OPs scenario, if the seller didn't contact them about the signficantly delayed posting, I can understand a buyer not feeling obliged to contact them over a dispute TBH

hi cat , I dont think any poster disagrees that posting a parcel 8 business days after it was paid for is right , in fact unless the seller was sick or what ,the seller was wrong to hold onto it for that long, but the buyer got delivered a parcel at most 1 or 2 days late, he has mentioned a long time , it came  after he shifted house in his posts , and at the end of the day its only an estimate delivery time .

I am basing my comments on the information provided by the OP.

They state in a post I have quoted above that in the listing the seller had 1-3 days handling time (handling time is seller controlled) yet the seller did not post for 2 weeks.

The date the seller posted from my understanding just happened to align with the end of eBays estimated delivery time - which I think is irrelevant, JMO of course.

According to the details provided by the OP the seller did not post within their stated time, and the actual post date was signficantly after the purchase was paid for - 2 weeks - which is not 1 - 2 days late.  It is two or three times what the seller committed to do in their listing based on the OP's scenario.

Re: shows Delivered (out of time frame), but is Returned To Sender, how I get refund?

now this is of course if its the headphones we are talking about brought sunday 29/3 .

buyer states it was sent over 2 weeks after being paid    that would make it 13/4  or 14/ 4 or later ,and in that time it got posted and returnes to the seller , he has posted this thread on the 15/4 . also friday the 10/4 would of being 8 business days when the buyer said he sent the parcel ,now if the new owner of the house got the parcel on monday the 13/4 or tuesday 14/4  it would of being only 1 or 2 business days late,   i am not saying 1 or 2 days sending it late,

also if you look at the sale , it states we usally send by a certain days , not we send by a certain days.

but at the end it was sent way too late.
