OK. I have a small but significant update after Mr12 finally got to see the psych at the MHU..

Best news is he will not have to go back..there is no underlying mental health issues... Yay..

Bad news..

Psych says to me that he is the most aggressive young person he has seen in over 12 months. He honestly thought that Mr12 might jump out of his chair and punch him.

Now this does not mean to say he is violent and would do it, in fact Mr12 would never in a million years do that.. BUT.. it does go a long way to reassuring me that I am not the crazy one in thinking that life is always a battle with my son.

Psych sat down and told Mr12 how he felt threatened by his body language and facial expressions and Mr12 was quiet shocked. I now do not think he even realises that he comes across so aggressively where as a few weeks ago I wondered if he was doing it on purpose or was it just in my imagination.

I guess it can go down as a typical lack of understanding of emotions and facial expressions that aspie folk are prone too.

The good news is he thinks we can deal with this through our regular psychologist.

PnP big (((HUGS)) I still have vivid memories of when my girls were little and the meltdowns they would have in the shops. They were so intense that the therapists of the day told me to not take them. But I did and now well they can't keep away, they are shopping divas lol.

Sorry it was such a hard day for you and the lil one.

Thanks Bella, I am not keen to avoid situations that may trigger problems, as I think if she never experiences them, we will never be able to address the issues.:-x

It sounds like your boy & mine are very similar then.

Although mine will follow through with provocation. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Hi again everyone!!!
Could someone please tell me:
Do you have to live miles from anywhere to claim the Isolated Childrens Allowance???

No, you are eligible if your child is homeschooled and therefore isolated, for medical reasons. We lived within walking distance of a school and were eligible as he was unable to attend that or any maiinstream school due to his ASD

Does anyone know if Melatonin drops could cause depression to get worse. DD has been on them a week now and tonight she was close to psychotic. She has issues but that is not her at all.

LOL ๐Ÿ™‚ I understand what a minefield it is! All you should need is a doctor to sign off on it or a Peady. Good luck, I found it to be a great help.

It helped my younger (NT) boy out of a depressive stage, but I know meds can sometimes do weird things.

Or could it be that getting some sleep is enabling her to relax and let the stress show?

Either way, talk to someone medical about it - not the stupid GP who thinks it's all your parenting though!
