At what age is it okay for a sleep over?

For your son/daughter to allow their partners to spend the night (same bed) in your family home?

I find it interesting that some of you say there is nothing wrong with doing it in a car yet wouldn't want them doing it in your house? Can someone explain why?  ?:|

because i did not want to put my parents in the position of having to decide whether or not to let me have a bf sleep over and i also didnt want them to be in the next room while i was having sex.

Wouldn't asking your parents if your bf or gf can stay over in your bedroom alert them to the fact that you wanted to do more than 'sleep' in the same room as them? A fact that they may have been unaware of till you asked that question? Therefore, if they didn't agree to that, they may also be a bit anti about their child spending time with this person (if they are younger than 18). Better they don't know in other words..

I think it is a matter of sending a message that it is OK by allowing to have your 16yo son/daughter to spend nights with their partners in the same bed and at the same time hoping they won't do it in the car 😉   I dont think they will actually say to their kids that it is OK.

I was nearly 22. living with my Fiance - we both went to my parent's house one night and they made us sleep in seperate rooms at opposite ends of the house!

How many of us here thought they could ask their parents if they could sleep with their partners at 16?   I didnt.  I knew what the answer was going to be.

Wouldn't have dared ask Eve you're right there I think very few of us would've had the courage to ask in my generation.

I know my parents allowed my brother and his partner but they were well in their 20's and already living together so my Mum said no point in saying not.

I figure it's one of those things I don't think I like the idea of hearing and knowing my kid is having sox in my house the same way I guess none of us would be overly thrilled to hear our parents or say overhearing our parents having sox :^O
