Love Border Collies. We had a black and white one. He was the smartest and sweetest dog ever. It broke our hearts when he died (old age).
SNAP !.........I had a Lou Nobel Collie many years ago. Lou was the Collie breeder who featured in the " top breeders reccommend Pal'' adverts, remember those ?. It was the best sheep dog I have ever owned. When my last kelpie was retired I searched high and low for another well bred Collie, but could not find one, as most Collie breeders only breed for the show and domestic pet market now. The dogs all have very long coats and no herding instinct..
I ended up with a Collie / Kelpie cross purchased from a well known merino sheep stud that also run large station properties. Its a good dog, but not a patch on the Lou Nobel Collie. There is a photo of them if you click on my profile.
