I hope that in the future if not today open discussion on Depression and Mental Illness can carry on...
Thoughts and best wishes to all who loved and cared for and about you .
“Charlotte was a beautiful person physically, but she also had a beautiful soul. She was kind, loving and generous,” Vicky said.
“She was a kind, loving and generous person and worked tirelessly for the causes she believed in.

As far as Charlottes Law goes, these sort of laws started in the USA and are mainly for children, that something horrible has happened to.
I would rather see these laws just for children, as they are innocent and not aware of life in the big wide world, like adults are.

No bluecat, not wrong, I just didn't go into all the various types you have mentioned, I spoke about what I know and what I have experienced, not just my own depression but that of a friend who was terminally ill for ten years and who suffered severely from it and whom I cared for until she died.
I do know what I am talking about when it comes to personal experience, but that is not necessarily your experience.
What is real tho and what we have all experienced is the discrimination that goes on because of it, and which will, no doubt continue.

Now, if we are gong to keep on track let's be careful and mindful of eachother and not pick holes in eachother. We are all different and our experiences will be vastly different, so gently Bently okay?

Sorry, pushed the button too soon. what I wanted to say was :I think everyone who suffers from depression is in their own personal hell.. We should not state categorically, 'this is how it is', or 'this is what causes it,' because everyone experiences and copes with it in their own unique way. We can only listen to them, hold them close and agree with them it is absolutely the pits. And no, I do not suffer from depression, but I have known what it is to feel overwhelming grief, and I guess the experience is not too dissimilar.

I am not questioning your experiences but rather the information you have given. As for treading gently, I suggest you do the same.

yeah, i dont know about a charlottes law. In theory its good but as stated, she had been know to also dish it out.
She is not the first to be sublected to cyber bullying, its happening all over the world everyday. Have a law by all means, but dont name it after anyone

"According to one friend, Dawson was fixated on an anti-anxiety drug that she thought would help her quit drinking.
Fairfax Media understands Dawson was taking Baclofen, a muscle relaxant that French cardiologist Olivier Ameisen claimed had cured him of drinking alcohol, sparking international headlines.
''She looked a million dollars when I saw her last week,'' a friend said. ''She had given up drinking and was talking about an anti-depressant she was taking ... Charlotte subscribed to the theory 'you take a pill for everything'. She sent me the link to a story on this drug, believing it would help her.''

Cat the information I gave relates to what I was told by a specialist who was treating me at the time. I think it probably holds true for a lot of people, but certainly not for everyone, neither did I catagorically say it did.
We can all, as has been stated only speak of what we know and we, personally, have be told... I was quoting from what I was told relating to me.
I can't argue with you over that 🙂
