As can be seen in the photo, Foo has had a blood test done today.
i noticed a swelling on his snout on friday morning so took him in to the vets friday afternoon.
the swelling is thought to be a tooth abcese.
whilst at the vets the vet noticed looking at Foos weight he had lost over 2 kilos since last december and about 5 kilos in a year!
hence the blood test, i will get the results tomorrow afternoon.
hes on anti biotics for his swelling and its allready gone down since friday.
the vet his holding off on the tooth problem until she gets the results from the blood test.
hes 11 years old, i'm not panicing but i am worried.
fingers crossed its not what it might be, cant even say it.

Update,
Foo has had his monthly Wash'N'Shine.
We dropped into the vets and had a weight check,
last time he was 32Kg
this time its 33.8Kg
seems all is good in the Foo rebuild program.

That's very good news David. His coat is looking very shiny and healthy.
Keep him well fed over the winter as that is when he is most likely to drop weight....and it is harder to put back on.
It is just like humans really.

I'll be thinking of Foo today David; might be that he's a little under the weather because of the excessive heat or something really easy to fix ...

Excess drinking is a sign of diabetes.....it can be managed very successfully with a bit of care.
If it is only mild it can be managed with a change in diet.

i need to share the saddest of news,
FOO has been put to sleep.
he had lost 4 kilos and was bleeding internally.
they (the vet) suspect a burst growth.
he went down hill very fast today, he was not too bad when i walked him at 7am but he wouldnt eat breakfast at all.
he couldnt lie down on his side.
i made an apointment when i realised he was not well. at 11:40 but by 10am i could see he was really struggling.
so i called the vet and took him straight in.
it was pretty obvious he was in pain as i had to lift him into the car.
my vet was very concerned as soon as he saw FOO.
i'm really very upset, but i know i have made the right decision.
he was my best mate for 7 1/2 years, he will be missed.
11 1/2 years old, i wish it was longer.
R.I.P. my Greytmate.

Oh no. Oh David, I am so very sorry, what a horrible shock it must be for you ....
I am so glad that Foo had you to love and care for him, what more could a dog ask for. Thank you for making his life so happy and content, you must have been a dream come true to him.

What terrible news.....and it all happened so suddenly.
I feel so sorry for both you and Rosie....be kind to each other. You will both miss Foo so much.
