FOO News

001.JPG

As can be seen in the photo, Foo has had a blood test done today.

i noticed a swelling on his snout on friday morning so took him in to the vets friday afternoon.

the swelling is thought to be a tooth abcese.

whilst at the vets the vet noticed looking at Foos weight he had lost over 2 kilos since last december and about 5 kilos in a year!

hence the blood test, i will get the results tomorrow afternoon.

hes on anti biotics for his swelling and its allready gone down since friday.

the vet his holding off on the tooth problem until she gets the results from the blood test.

hes 11 years old, i'm not panicing but i am worried.

fingers crossed its not what it might be, cant even say it.

Re: FOO News

Your kindness and love for the animals you take care of and protect will always be there in spirit in the house David, and will never leave you.

In the near future, there will be another rescue/adoption needed and you will be right there to do just that, bless you ... Heart

Re: FOO News

David, spend a bit of extra time with Rosie as she will miss Foo very much.

Give her the opportunity to curl up on your lap and snooze or whatever she wants.to do.

@davidc

I have had some time to think, and I am unable to nod off at the moment, so I have found some words Iโ€™d like to add to this thread.

It is clear that foo was loved by many more people than just those in your household.  You have shared the ups and downs to the point where we genuinely share in your loss.  It is difficult to know what to say, but in sharing our feelings of loss we on these boards can help you through this.  It also offers us an opportunity to say farewell to foo.

Thatโ€™s all Iโ€™ve got.

thank you so much.

you guys here are like family, we dont allways agree but thats ok.

i live alone but i'm not lonely, well a little more lonely just now.

sharing my life a little with the people who read the boards helps me get through life so much.

so i will be a little weird (weirder than normal) for a while but i'm ok.

i know i did the right thing, made the right decision for FOO even though i hate myself right now.

not waking up to his big face loking at me will take time.

not having a reason to get out of bed to make him breakfast (rosie is happy to stay in bed until late)

not going for our walks, or even just outside for his numerous pees.

i miss it all.

but, i will get another grehound as they need my help, id have a dozen if i could.

FOO turned me from a dog owner into a dog lover.

when he arrived he was almost everything i didnt ask for, he was a boy, i wanted a girl, he was black, i wanted anything but black.

but right from day 1 i just fell in love with everything about him.

so now i dont care about male or female or colour, as long as whoever arrives gets along with rosie and i know they will as

GAPSA do a brilliant job selecting the right greymate for the person we will give a loving home to him or her.

cheers to all my readers

love dave and rosie.

Re: FOO News

That is a lovely photo David.

Foo looks so fit and healthy....his coat is so shiny.

You have to wonder how it could go so very wrong in such a short time.

If it were me I would make that photo the screen saver on my computer.   I have a photo of our Westie...he had his front paws on my knees and was looking straight into the camera.

How is Rosie today?  A sleep in with you would probably do both of you a world of good.  Take each day as it comes.
