Holiday Favorites

  I've been reading, and watching shows about food around the world, it's diversity and its similarities. And with Christmas coming, I thought I'd ask what your favorite special to the holidays dish is? 

  One of mine is Whoopee pies, one of my DILs is from Pennsylvania Dutch country and she makes them for us only at Christmas. They are so goood!

Lal - we have ' Australia Day ' - on the 25th - perhaps some clever person can put up a great recipe for ' Anzac Biscuits ' for you to try.

OK.  But you may have given the impression that Australia Day is the 25th.

And we can't have that happenin'

I was going to make Snickerdoodles yesterday.  

Got everything out, all ready to go......last ingredient was the cinnamon.

Didn't have enough, got disheartened, and had to put everything away again.

I now have a great big jar of Dutch Cinnamon for the Snickerdoodles.

Just have to find the motivation to turn on the oven in 33 deg heat (that's 92F deg for Lal)

Might be a tomorrow job when it'll only be 29 deg

After that it gets hotter - up to 39 deg (102F)

33 today for you? I am loving a cooler day, not sure of the temp, but beautful breeze and humidity is low, not usual for our neck of the woods so I am making the most of it

Gives the body time to recuperate.

Can't see these Snickerdoodles getting done anytime soon.

Temp is going up and up.    Monday will be 43 deg -  that's 109F for Lal
