I've been reading, and watching shows about food around the world, it's diversity and its similarities. And with Christmas coming, I thought I'd ask what your favorite special to the holidays dish is?
One of mine is Whoopee pies, one of my DILs is from Pennsylvania Dutch country and she makes them for us only at Christmas. They are so goood!

It's always a good idea to feign - for a couple more days - just for the TLC.
Hot as again here - 32c.
Finally got my Australia Day sorted - holiday tomorrow so - group dinner tonight.
We are allowed 5 visitors - so all good.
A BarBQ - then a game of :
Trust Me, I'm a Doctor - great fun.
Trust Me I’m a Doctor is a hilarious card game that lets you become an old-timey doctor, treating serious medieval maladies with some VERY questionable cures.
Players draw gross Ailments and horrifying Cures, then attempt to cure their patient by suggesting various outdated cures, aiming to match symbols on the cards and back up their combination with lots of verbal jousting.
The first doctor to be chosen thrice wins, and if everyone is sufficiently grossed out this is a bonus!
This party game encourages interaction with your friends. Each of these Ailments and Cures are REAL things that happened.
Lol, Lea is a good substitute for Nurse Ratchet, so I'm not so sure about the TLC part! And have I mentioned that unsalted bone broth is NASTY? But she swears she'll force feed me if I don't drink at least 3 mugs a day, and it DOES make my throat and chest less painful, so I'm drinking it.
I managed to eat about 6 ounces of tuna salad on "Wonder" bread yesterday, it hurt some, but I needed some bulk in my belly. And today I get to have CHICKEN! I don't know what NUrse Ratchet is making yet,, and I don't care, I just need FOOD. I'm sleeping about 14 hurs a day still, but that's a good thing.
A bad tornado ripped through a suburb about 20 miles south of us last night, so my church folks are getting the camp cabins stocked up and going to go get some of the families who are now homeless , they can stay as long as they need to.Great granddaughter made it her mssion to gather up a ton of my excess books, in particular kidstuff, to put in the main hall as a sort of library for them, she's a sweet child. That is, until she tried to snag my first edition Harry Potters, HARD NO on that. I'm very giving, but not THAT much, lol!
