Holiday Favorites

I've been reading, and watching shows about food around the world, it's diversity and its similarities. And with Christmas coming, I thought I'd ask what your favorite special to the holidays dish is?

One of mine is Whoopee pies, one of my DILs is from Pennsylvania Dutch country and she makes them for us only at Christmas. They are so goood!

Sorry Lyh.  Only ever used them in a slice.

No worries, would prefer to make meals not snacks from  them

I think I'm also blind now, as well as brain dead.

The computer kept making noises that brought Hubby running, thinking I was killing it.

When I said slice - dunno if it's the same as you mean.

I used to make daughter a zucchini pie, way back when.

Kinda like the old Impossible Pie - but she's vegetarian, so I left out the bacon.

I always put grated zucchini in my quiches, I make the one you do, (kinda ) but  I add chicken and corn as well as bacon and onion  .....

To me a slice isnt a meal

Re: Holiday Favorites

Kind of depends on the size of the slice. LOL

With a side salad.

A full meal here.

Re: Holiday Favorites

Just a question - the ' slice ' is virtually a pastry-less quiche - if quiche is a meal why isn't the slice.

Asking for a friend.

Re: Holiday Favorites

Zook patties would be nice with a salad.  And they can be cooked and frozen.
